Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Visioneers Android Application Concept Design Challenge!

We’re excited to bring this opportunity to come up designs for a tool that helps managing ideas and projects in a incentivized prize competition brought by XPrize. This application will be a fundamental tool for a public event, the “Visioneers” Summit, which will be attended by over 250 prominent individuals, ranging from some of the most iconic CEOs, to leading technology innovators, to A-list celebrities/philanthropist, to Governors, Senators, and world leaders. During this multi-day event there will be 9 teams competing to be the next XPRIZE. These team sponsors include some of world’s largest organizations- Caterpillar, Lowes, Clorox, Governor of Singapore, ANA Airlines, etc. focused on XPRIZE Impact Proposals for ALS, Cancer, Empathy, Affordable Housing, Clean Drinking Water, Water Desalinization, Future of Food, and others. Fun project!

We are looking to see design concepts on how this application will work, considering the best practices for an easy experience to the user considering the target audience.

The goal of this challenge is to create design concepts for a native Android application that allows voting for the team that propose the best grand challenge/idea at the Visioneers summit event. The voting is done through a likert scale for each of the questions/category. The secondary goal of this app is to allow the reverse to happen: the teams vote for the best mentors (participants) who helped or will help them financially or with their knowledge in the field.

You’re provided with VERY ROUGH wireframes of the application flow. This is for you to get a sense of the pages but please come up with better flows for the information that is going to be displayed. You’re totally encouraged to come up with your own concepts that better suit your solution.

Branding Guidelines
- Follow XPrize Brand Guidlines.pdf.
- Logo is attached. Feel free to use it (not mandatory).
- Read the Android Material design principles to understand the design philosophy. However, the design doesn’t have to fully copy the detault states of components. You’re encouraged to customize the look of the application.
- It should look very modern and Android friendly.

Design Concepts Goals
- The UI/UX should be intuitive (minimal instructions needed), visually appealing and with some element of futuristic / high tech feel to it. This video shows the type of event where it will be used, get a sense of it.
- Designs must cover the entire functionality.
- Designs should really take into account simplicity and accessibility.
- Come up with an unique solution. DO NOT JUST RESKIN the wireframes.

Screen Specifications
- Tablet: 2560px x 1800px. Specifically, this application will be used in a Google Pixel C tablet device (10,2 inches screen).
- Orientation: Landscape OR portrait - YOU CHOOSE IT. The customer has not decided yet the orientation of the design. It will be locked down to one single orientation. You must decide what best adapts to your proposal. You’re free to send an alternate version of at least one screen in both orientations to help the customer decide during checkpoint phase (optional though).
- Make sure you create graphic in shape format, so when resizing for other versions, graphic still look sharp!

Screens Requirements
- Follow the provided wireframes as a start point. Remember you must come up with better flows and propose what’s best for your solution.
- Feel free to reorganize screens or split if necessary. It’s your show, run it!

1. Login
- See page #1 (wireframes).

2. Dashboard
- See page #2 (wireframes).
- There should be ane easy and clear way to navigate to all of the sections of the application: dashboard, team review, mentors and event schedule. Feel free to arrange and locate in the way you think would work better.
- The main goal of the dashboard is to inform the audience who's winning, so the score (by team) is a must (think of some sort of leaderboard). The same applies for the Mentor scores. Assuming that clicking on a team name (in the Dashboard) will navigate the user to the team bios.
- This is the landing page and also needs to be "live" and eye catchy. It will be auto-refreshing in real time (or within a few seconds) for updating the scores.
- This page displays data (score related) about mentors, all teams or specific ones. We need to display charts and information useful to the audience. What can you come up with?
- There is a twitter feed in the navigation. You can relocate it in any part of the application. This is a feed of the twitter account of the event and tweets from users.

3. Team Review > Category Mode
- See page #3 (wireframes).
- Users can see all the teams with rating by category. They can also see the details of each one of them.
- Users can vote at the category level.
- Current rate icons (like, heart, etc) are just placeholders. You should come up with your own graphic representation of the rating values.
- Add a confirmation message for the sync button action. After hitting it, there should be a success or error notification, something subtle.

4. Team Review > Question Mode
- See page #4 (wireframes).
- Users can see all the teams with question rating.
- Users can vote at the question level.

5. Teams Bios
- See page #5 (wireframes).
- Users can see team information as a whole, with description, amount of members, as well as bios of the members (individual member profile information).
- There are nine (9) teams top.

6. Mentors
- See page #6 (wireframes).
- Participants can be mentors. The summit participants who vote for the team can also offer their help and assistance with the project if they have the financial resources or connections or knowledge to do so. If this is the case, the team can "reward" the participant in the mentor contest. The mentor winner will be recognized and awarded at the end of the event.

7. Event Schedule
- See page #7 (wireframes).
- The Event will have many "Sessions". A session is the presentation by a team on their idea and last about 90 min. Each session will be held in a separate room and can run concurrently.
- The Event Schedule will have the date, time and location (room) of these session (Schedule).
- There will be also a map of the venue (not interactive).

Target User
Attendees of the Visioneers Summit event. Among them, savvy and non savvy users. Multi-industry fields such as medicine, chemicals, alimentation, government, health, and others.

Judging Criteria
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Creativity and ease-of-use is key to the success as it must be engaging to users.
