Challenge Overview
The HTML5 Engine project aims to create a low footprint HTML5 compliant browser with a limited set of features to run on devices. We have tried to trim down the current WebKit sources to meet this goal and the end result wasn't suitable for the client.
This proof of concept will start a different, ground-up approach to build only the HTML5 features necessary for the client's needs, using the SquirrelFish / JavascriptCore Javascript Engine and DirectFB for graphical output. Ubuntu 10.04 will be the targeted operating system for this assembly.
Final Submission Guidelines
- Fully implemented functionality defined by the requirements documentation.
- Demo application.
- Clear deployment document.
- Example Javascript file to show the full PoC working correctly.
