Challenge Overview
Hera provides a referral service that matches consumers with third party vendors based on a particular need of the consumer. The Hera Contact Verification Web Service (HCV) will be used by Hera to verify that a consumer has input valid contact information when filling out a questionnaire. The accuracy of the contact information is important because a business partner (vendor) will contact a consumer by phone when matched for a specific need. The more accurate the information about the consumer, the greater the value of the referral is. HCV service is a WCF web service that provides validations for a combination of address, name, and telephone number. HCV service communicates with a third party system called Targus to validate contact information. HCV abstracts all the details related to communicating with Targus and the process of validating the address.
The component also provides ability to use all information that can be obtained from Targus including standardized address, alternate address or phone, corrected name, IP address validation, and email validation.
This component was extended to expose another functionality of Targus Info web service via WCF service – retrieving household buying power details using phone, address or both as an input. IHeraBuyingPowerWCFService interface and its implementation are provided by the updated component.
