Challenge Overview
The current processes for scheduling rooms for surgery leaves some rooms unoccupied when procedures could be taking place. This is because rooms are assigned to specific purposes, even though most rooms have the same surgical capabilities. While this assignment makes the majority of scheduling easier, ad hoc scheduling cannot always take advantage of all available rooms.
This project will design a new scheduling system that encompass all scheduling use cases and the sharing of rooms and resources across hospitals.
