Challenge Summary

The goal of this contest is to design 4 screens for the Photo Hunt widget. This widget will let users play a game where they "hunt" for differences between 2 photos. You will be evaluated on how fun, engaging, and easy to use your designs are!

Entries must be your original work, and must not infringe on the copyright or licenses of others. Stock art, clip art, stock photography, templates and other design elements from other sources are prohibited unless specifically permitted here in the Contest Details.

The Concept Have you ever played a picture compare game you found in a newspaper or magazine? Two pictures that, at a glance, look like exact duplicates are quickly found to have some minor differences, and you have to compare them and find all 8, 15 or 20 discrepancies. Usually the differences are pretty obvious once you start looking. For example, someone's eyes are a different color, a house is missing a window, or a table is missing a leg. We would like to generate a widget using this concept. The goal of the widget is to engage and delight users, to keep them coming back to play the game, and for people to share/compete with one another. How the Game Works The game works as follows: There are five pairs of photos (displayed one pair at a time). Each pair has five small differences between them. It is the user's goal to spot the differences. The user clicks on either photo in the pair where you see a difference and a green circle (or other detection decided by you) will appear. They keep trying to find all five before the next of pair of photos loads. It can played timed (for example, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 45 seconds per photo pair) or stress free with no time limit. After all five pairs are played a summary screen appears that shows the results and scores. For example, Photo 1: 2 out of 5, Photo 2: 4 out of 5, etc. A player ranking will also display. For example: novice, intermediate, advanced user, etc. A "Play Again" option is also available. Design Considerations The visual design and interactions should be simple, focused and easily understood. For example, using larger buttons and more white space as opposed to a crowded, content heavy design 1. Primary focus should be on user experience flow and interactive components. 2. The flow must be clean and easy to navigate. Design Requirements - Width: No wider than 300 pixels wide. - Height: between 250 and 400 pixels. - Include a link/button to a "Leader Board" page. - Include a link/button to Start Over. Deliverables You are required to deliver the following screens. - Screen 1: Main page with introduction - Screen 2: Instructions on how to play the game and time setup. - Screen 3: The game play screen. This screen should have 2 photos of identical size, a timer, and a label to indicate where the player is in the game (that is, "1 of 5"). Use the provided photo. - Screen 4: The summary screen with score and ranking. There should also be links for Try Again, Start New Game, and Share With Friends. We understand we are not providing very specific design requirements, so you have freedom to pick things like colors and style. Just make sure your design is fun, engaging, and easy to use! If you have any questions please ask them in the forum! Preview Image Your preview image should be a copy of Screen 1, without any effects applied (such as mirror, skewing, shadow, etc.).

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
