Challenge Summary

Lending Tree is building an application that allows Lenders to self register to setup a profile on the Lending Tree Network. For this contest, you will be creating HTML and CSS for the New pages described in the Prototype_New_Pages.doc. The client is looking for clean and well-structured code

Entries must be your original work, and must not infringe on the copyright or licenses of others. Stock art, clip art, templates and other design elements from other sources are prohibited unless specifically permitted here in the Contest Details.


For this contest, you will be developing the HTML and CSS for the pages described in the provided Prototype_New_Pages.doc. You will use the provided LenderAutomation_Prototype.zip to create the look and feel for your pages. This will consist of the header, colors, and fonts. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUILD UPON THE EXISTING PAGES. These are being provided only for look and feel purposes. The primary objective for this contest is to create the pages defined in Prototype_New_Pages.doc. LenderAutomation_Prototype.zip - Note: You will want to follow the look and feel such as header, colors and font but you should submit your own prototype. You should NOT modify or add the new pages to the existing prototype provided (LenderAutomation_Prototype.zip) If anything is unclear PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IN THE FORUM! We are happy to help clarify any points that are not clear. Individual Page Requirements All Pages - all pages described in Prototype_New_Pages.doc will need a Logout feature Dummy Page - please refer to section 1 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc Filter Setup Page - Please refer to section 2 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc. - This page refers to the provided Filter_Storyboards.zip Lead Delivery Page - please refer to section 3 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc Lender Billboard Page - please refer to section 4 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc CLO Services Agreement Page - please refer to section 5 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc - As stated in Prototype_New_Pages.doc, this section can be combined with the Pricing Agreement Page. The decision is up to you. Pricing Agreement Page - please refer to section 6 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc - As stated in Prototype_New_Pages.doc, this section can be combined with the CLO Services Agreement Page. The decision is up to you. Credit Card Information - please refer to section 7 of Prototype_New_Pages.doc HTML/CSS Requirements Your HTML should be structured so that there is a common structure for each page with common headers and footers. The content specific to each page will be inserted into a common section of the page template. The following guidelines will improve your changes of success. 1. Your HTML code must be XHTML 1.0 Strict compliant 2. Validate your code - we will accept minor validation errors, but please comment your reason for any validation errors. Validate your code against this link http://validator.w3.org/ 3. Use CSS to space out objects, not clear/transparent images (GIFs or PNGs). 4. Proper use of structural CSS to lay out your page is strongly encouraged. 5. No inline CSS styles - all styles must be placed in an external stylesheet. 6. Use semantically correct tags - use H tags for headers etc 7. Use strong and em tags instead of bold and italic tags 8. Element and Attribute names should be in lowercase and use a "-" or camel naming to separate multiple-word classes (i.e.. "main-content", or "mainContent 9. Label all CSS, Javascript, or HTML *hacks* with explanations so others will understand. 10. Only use table tags for tables of data/information and not for page layout. 11. Your code must render properly in Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 and 3, Google Chrome and Safari in both Mac and PC environments. Javascript All JavaScript must not have a copyright by a third party. You are encouraged to use your own scripts, or scripts that are free, publicly available and do not have copyright statements or author recognition requirements anywhere in the code. You are encouraged to use the jQuery javascript library for this competition. Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following: - How closely the prototype matches the descriptions from Prototype_New_Pages.doc - How well items are styled that are not provided in the storyboards - Cleanliness and organization of source code - Uniqueness of your submission. For example, how you pay attention to detail for items such as alignment.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
