Tournament Format This Studio competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $1000. Round 1 At the end of Round 1 on April 7, 2009, Ferguson will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $750 in prizes. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Overview One of the main goals of Ferguson.com is to drive traffic to the Ferguson stores/showrooms by allowing Ferguson.com users the ability to find showroom locations quickly. This contest is to design the interface for a proposed "Locations Finder Widget". The widget must be visually strong and exciting. Ferguson will examine how engaging the "look & feel" is as well as how the design, Flash interactivity and calls to action encourages the user to find a Ferguson location. Because the final widget will be produced in Flash, we also would like you to think about how it might be animated or utilize Flash interactivity. Please include a .TXT file to explain your ideas. This is the first of two (2) competitions for this widget, with a Flash Conversion/yourminis build contest to follow. You will be designing a yourminis widget, so please be aware of the "look & feel", structural and technical considerations. Experience - Clean design - brevity, relevant, credible Desired Functionality: Screen/Tab 1: Map - Proximity Finder - when a customer first uses the widget they will see a screen saying "There are XX locations in your area" "Find your local Ferguson" - There should be a link "Search" that opens a layer or converts to a form field that allows a user to search by "City or Zip Code" - There should be a link "Search Outside the U.S." that allows a user to select new locations. - The user will be able to click the screen and have a local map appear. - This widget will use the Google Maps API - include any standard google maps functions Screen/Tab 2: Directions - This tab allows the user to select a location and then input their location address (Address, City , State and/or ZIP) and receive directions. Screen/Tab 3: Type of Location - This tab will show the Type of Locations with a Secondary navigation detailing the following: Showrooms - Destination Showrooms - Bath and Kitchen - Cabinetry - Lighting - Appliances Counters - Xpress Counter - Appliances - Builder Products - Cabnets - HVAC - Hydronic Products - Industrial - Irrigation Showroom visitors are homeowners/remodelers who are looking for a high-end experience on the website. Counter visitors are professional contractors or builders in any of our target businesses who want to get information quickly and easily. Also how innovative and exciting the overall storyboard design presents itself. Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 800x800 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections.
