Challenge Summary

Long & Foster is building a web application that allows their staff to store various sales contracts and other sales related documents in PDF format and allow retrieval of these documents upon request. The goal of this contest is to design the user interface that accurately captures the application requirments and information flow so the user has a clear understanding of how to use the CFIS application. This contest will be run in the Studio Tournament format. Please read the contest specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this contest. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
Tournament Format This Studio competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $2000. Round 1 At the end of Round 1 on April 20, 2009, Long & Foster will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1750 in prizes. Round 2 Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review from Long & Foster. ------------------------------------------------------------------ We are now in Round 2 - if you did not submit to Round 1 you are not eligible to compete in this contest. Congratulations Round 1 Winners on your $50 Prizes: 19485 - abedavera 19503 - Olesya 19504 - abedavera 19508 - joker_arif 19513 - roney_hendrix Round 2 Project Comments/Updates 1) The additional new page for Round 2 is the "View Documents" Page 2) Overall color choices have been good - remember this is a business application. 3) When creating the "CFIS" branding/header - include "Case File Imaging System" 4) All submissions need to push their design and graphic execution more. 5) Pay attention to consistency within your graphics and action items. 6) Make sure you have good contrast - this will be used by a wide spectrum of users 7) Check your spelling before submitting ------------------------------------------------------------------ Overview The Case File Imaging System (CFIS) will be a document storage and retrieval web application. The application will store various sales contracts and other sales related documents in PDF format and retrieve these documents for display when requested by a user. Documents will be submitted to the system either through the use of a document copier or through directly uploading PDF documents. Both methods will utilize a 'coversheet creation page' that will either allow users to print out a coversheet for the hard copy upload ('Create and Print') or allow users to directly upload previously existing PDF documents ('Upload and Save'). After documents are in the system, users may retrieve documents from the system and view them online, or save to their local drive as desired. The system shall also provide 4 worklist screens, that will be used by Accounting department personnel to see the status of a case as it flows through the Accounting system. 4 principle areas of the cycle are covered: Escrow with L&F, Received HUD-1, Pending Disbursement, and Money Releases. These worklist screens merely show data on the screen, there is no other functionality they are required to perform. Users look at them to see what is pending, and go to other external systems to resolve any issues that may hold up a case from processing. Because a document may be submitted to the system and may not find its way to the proper case, a 'Lost and Found' area will be available to IT System Administrators who can look at each orphaned document and attach it to the proper case. Admin users can access a Admin Delete Screen that allows them to delete any document in the system. IT System Administrator: Will use the same create casesheet and view document functionality as the other groups as well as administrative functionalities listed below.
