Tournament Format This Studio competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $1,750. Round 1 At the end of Round 1 on May 4, 2009, TrustedTies will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1500 in prizes. Round 2 Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review from TrustedTies. ------------------------------------------------------------------ We are now in Round 2 - if you did not submit to Round 1 you are not eligible to compete in this contest. Profile Page Requirements - The Profile Page should have a picture area for primary and secondary photos. You can choose which photo to be primary photo. Primary photo would be larger photo. - There should be three areas for profile information such as demographics, user location; other areas would be full questionnaire answers. - For the right hand side bar, we need to have areas for buttons (such as refer a friend), text, videos and small ads space. - For left hand side bar, need to leave area for some sub-page navigation - This page could have a lot of information and page could be scrollable. - Site colors, design and theme should match the home page. Round 2 General Feedback 1) Navigation: Please include in your design a Top Level Navigation of four (4) links (your choice) 2) Colors: Please use the current TrustedTies.com colors - less overall use of purple/pink 3) Keep your designs clean with crisp modern graphics 4) Check your spelling before submitting ------------------------------------------------------------------ Stock Photography Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Overview This contest is to design a new Homepage "Introduction" for TrustedTies.com. Contest Deliverables Tournament Round 1: TrustedTies-Home.jpg = Your proposed design Notes.txt = Any additional comments/thoughts Tournament Round 2: TrustedTies-Home.jpg = Your finished design TrustedTies-Profile.jpg = (See Profile Page Requirements) - Your finished design Notes.txt = Any additional comments/thoughts Source files must be built as layered Photoshop PSD files or layered Illustrator AI files You must submit all requested deliverables to be considered for prizes - you may submit more pages if necessary to show your design. Target Audience TrustedTies main demographic is: - 30-65 years old Business Professionals - People looking for quality relationships Homepage Requirements - Site Logo and Branding - Use existing logo; can change logo colors (should still be 2 colors) - Site colors can change: use 1-2 colors that are warm and inviting, do not make the background too dark. - You can use existing logo colors and change the site colors to compliment it - You design should fit comfortable within a 1024px browser window - The site will be fluid (expand and contract with the browser window) - so design accordingly. - Keep the footer links on the bottom and allow room for additional links - Member Login should be at top right of the page - Should include a picture of a couple (male & female- stock photo) - Picture should match demographic for site - Must be able to easily swap out picture to change it - Should provide for 2 sections for short text paragraphs or graphic that may include links - Should provide another small area for a potential video clip - Provide a small space (maybe on right) for Special Ad Partners, that is tasteful and professional - Make the overall design cutting edge & cool - but not too far out there ! - Nothing flashing - Not busy: keep it simple looking, crisp, and easy to follow - Copyright information Logo and Branding - All colors and branding choices are completely open to the designer. - We will make comments on color choices and options after Round 1 or the tournament. Design Considerations & Judging Criteria - Research! Research the competition and modern site usability - Showing an intuitive interface that is easy-to-use. - Creating a clean, simple and professional design that does not feel "cramped" or "stuffy" - All design choices should be focused on usability and sharp and engaging graphic design. Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi. plus your notes.txt file Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.
