Ferguson is looking to redesign their corporate website. The goal of this contest is to create a clean and professional user interface for their new Home Page. In this contest, you will be designing two (2) web page for Ferguson based on the the provided direction and any feedback in the forums. This is a quick contest - Contest ends Wednesday, May 13th at 10AM EDT
Ferguson will be holding a series of contests in the next few weeks to design and update their existing website. One of the main goals is to drive more traffic to the Ferguson showrooms by allowing Ferguson.com users the ability to find showroom locations quickly. The Ferguson Home Page will direct users to two main areas "Homeowner" and "Professionals". This is a continuation of the the "Ferguson.com Home Page Design" contest. We are now looking for updated designs, revisions, refined graphics and any new ideas you might have to improve the provided designs. Home Page Requirements: IMPORTANT: The Home Page Requirements have been updated with new source files - please reread the requirements and download new files. - Thank you! Overall Home Page updates (both designs) 1) Use the provided logo 2) Use colors based on the colors shown in the Landing Page design. (LandingPage.PSD) 3) Include the Ferguson copyright statement in the footer. 4) Integrate the provided Home Page text. (HomePage-Copy.txt) HomePage1.PSD 1) Place the 2 main areas "Homeowner" and "Professionals" into the design. (Ferguson-Images) 2) Design the 2 main areas either horizontally or vertically (your design choice) 3) Place the Corporate Information below the main area (above the footer) 4) Provide any additional screens showing active/inactive image states. 5) Keep the "elbow" curve in your design (like HomePage 2) 6) Integrate the look and feel of the provided Location Finder into the Location Finder area of the Home Page. (Location-Finder-Artwork) HomePage2.PSD 1) We like the integration of the logo "elbow" curves into the design - make the curves the same radius as the logo. 2) Both images should be "on" the first time you land on this page. 3) Integrate a blue background background bar behind the 2 main images. 4) Integrate the Locations Finder graphics into the "Find Us" box. (Location-Finder-Artwork) 5) Provide a different font solution. 6) Provide any additional screens showing active/inactive image states. The purpose of the Ferguson Home Page is to present a path choice for the user of "Homeowner", "Professional". We want the user to make a quick decision and arrive at their preferred Landing Page. We are looking to provide two (2) unique designs for a presentation - please do not submit Home Page designs with small subtle changes between HomePage1 and HomePage2 - Thank you IMPORTANT 1) DO NOT COPY ANYTHING FROM THE CURRENT FERGUSON.COM SITE - THIS IS TO BE A COMPLETELY NEW/UPDATED DESIGN BASED ON THE PROVIDED .PSD FILES (no images, no logos, ignore the current site) MOST DESIGNS FROM THE FIRST CONTEST IGNORED THIS REQUIREMENT! 2) Only use the provided Ferguson Logo - Do not use gradients, shadows or patterns to fill the logo - Logo color may be the Ferguson blue, white or black - The "elbow" art of the logo may be used separately as a graphic device 3) Simple, minimalistic and clean! - use white space and think corporate 4) Check your spelling before submitting Site Navigation The goal is to direct traffic to the proper path: Professional Homeowner Locations Finder Corporate Information - About Us - Careers - Press Room - Contact Us - Our Suppliers - Habitat for Humanity Sample Homepages (that we like) Sample 1 - The executives like this Sample 2 - A competitor to our professional side Sample 3 - The executives like this because of how they present the breadth of products and services offered Design Considerations - Research! Look at the provided links and modern corporate design. - Showing an intuitive interface. - Creating a clean, simple and professional website design. Contest Deliverables HomePage1_Design.jpg = Your updated design of HomePage 1 HomePage2_Design.jpg = Your updated design of HomePage 2 Design_Notes.txt = Any proposed interactions/features/functions Please group your submissions by "unique design" if you submit alternate color options or small changes please submit them within the same "unique design" submission Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi. plus your notes.txt file Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
