Challenge Summary

Ferguson is looking to rework their corporate website. The goal of this contest is to create clean and professional storyboards for their Consultation workflow. Ferguson is a leading distributor of plumbing supplies and pipes, valves and fittings (PVF) as well as heating and cooling equipment (HVAC). In this contest, you will be designing the Storyboards for the Showroom Consultants workflow based on the the provided direction and any feedback in the forums. This contest will be run in the Studio Tournament format. Please read the contest specification and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this contest. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
Studio Tournament Format This competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $1250. Round One (1) At the end of Round One, Ferguson will choose FIVE (5) review winners; each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in Round One will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1000 in prizes. Round Two (2) Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five $50 Round 1 winners and the posting of their design reviews in the contest forum ------------------------------------------------------------------ We are now in Round 2 Congratulations Round 1 Winners on your $50 Prizes: 20219 - iamtong 20218 - djackmania Round 2 Project Comments/Updates We are including a new download file "Showroom-Appt-Interaction.pdf" with required information/updates for Round 2 - Most designs were simple and clean. Yay! - This interaction does not actually book the appointment. This is routed as a REQUEST to the nearest showroom near the zip code of the user. (the "Book Your Consultation" button should be "Request an Appointment" or "Request a Consultation") - Imagery is important - make the interaction FUN and not a chore - Do not concentrate on the "ad space" - use that area for visually appealing images - Think of this similar to a wizard with multiple steps. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Overview Ferguson has been holding a series of contests to design and update their existing website (Ferguson.com). One of the main goals is to drive more traffic to the Ferguson stores/showrooms by allowing Ferguson.com users the ability to find showroom locations quickly. For this contest you will be focused on designing the look and feel of the "Ready to book Your Showroom Consultation" workflow. The "Consultation" button can be found on the Showroom Landing page (Client-Mockup-Showroom.jpg). We are looking for a modern graphic design look to this workflow. Showroom Consultation ideas and thoughts: - A modal window (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modal_window) that opens when a user clicks "yes" (the Showroom Landing page is grayed out) with the Showroom information availble to the user. - Three possible sections: "What is your project", "What is a good time for you", "Contact Information" - The design needs to be engaging (Use of stock photography? Use of existing Ferguson Home graphics) - Provide ideas for Ad Space or Product placement. - As part of the workflow the user can fill out a "Prequalifying Questionaire" and this form will be submitted to the local Showroom. We are looking for some modern design and interactions with the Questionaire. (Form Samples Link) - Please refer to the provided downloads for Questionaire inputs and design reference. Stock Photography Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com.
