Challenge Summary

TopCoder is looking for a new and innovative look to our client proposals. This is your opportunity to have your design shown to our multitude of clients and potential clients. In this contest, you will be designing a title page and an interior page of the company proposal. The layout must be innovative and professional while still allowing the user to focus on the content.
Overview In this contest, you will design a title page and an interior page of a TopCoder client proposal. The design must be engaging and professional. It must also focus the user on the content and not distract them from it. Overall Design Requirements For this contest, you MUST meet the following requirements: - Design must fit in a standard 8.5 x 11 in portrait (vertical) layout - Submission must be designed at a 300dpi resolution - Provide adequate padding around the page border of at least a half of an inch. - Use TopCoder logo (provided), color palette and other branding elements found on the various TopCoder web sites. - Use a placeholder image for the client logo. - Use placeholder text for the client name. - Use placeholder text and images for the content. Title Page Design Requirements The cover page must contain the following: - TopCoder logo (provided) - Placeholder client logo - Title of proposal - TopCoder name - Placeholder client name - Date of Proposal - "Prepared By" name(s) Interior Page Design Requirements The interior page MUST contain the following: - 3-5 paragraphs of placeholder text - A chart graphic that you design. - A timeline graphic that you design which, for example, can be a timeline of a project. - The page header must contain the proposal title, the client name and the TopCoder name - The page footer must contain the page number, copyright information and - The TopCoder logo and client logo MUST be on the page in either the header or footer, depending on your design Design Considerations - The design and layout should compliment and enhance the content and not compete with the text. - The layout should be open with an appropriate amount of white space. - Fonts are open to the designer. Mid-Point Feedback All designs that are submitted by Wednesday 5/20 at 3pm EDT will receive mid-content feedback on your work. This is an opportunity to provide you with some valuable information and help you be more successful in this competition. Your design will not be shown publicly. Only our feedback of your submission will be posted to the forums. Target Audience All existing clients and potential clients of TopCoder. Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following: - The level of focus on the content - The consistency between the cover page and interior page - The quality of the design Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
