Challenge Summary

Ferguson is looking to rework their corporate website. The goal of this contest is to create a wireframe/prototype hybrid that allows them to help organize and plan their website updates.
Ferguson is holding a series of contests in the next few weeks to design and update their existing website (Ferguson.com). The first step in this process is to create a *Working Prototype based on their current site. For this contest you will be updating the provided (existing) Prototype with new Wireframe pages and a reorganized Site Map. *Working Prototype: The goal of the working prototype is to allow the client to see the site structure and click-through from "New" wirefreme pages to "Existing" pages. This contest is to redo the Site Directory based on the new site map and add in the new pages as HTML Wireframe pages with appropriate navigation. Not all the pages have been designed so we are looking for you to add the "filler" pages with simple "wireframe" information and navigation so the client can still click-through to all the pages and see what pages need content or additional work. Functional Overview - Update the provided prototype directory according to the new Site Map New-SiteMap_5-15-09.png) (rearrange folders and add and remove pages according to the site map) - Add the New Pages (Black Boxes) as HTML Wireframe pages with their own CSS file (recreate the provided jpg content as simple HTML Wireframe pages) - All pages should link properly - Any new pages that do not have a provided wireframe design should still be included - All new pages/paths should have proper SEO URL naming - All pages should be saved as .html - If an existing page is not represented in the Site Map, place it in the site structure where you think it best fits. Please include that in your Notes.txt file - Submissions must render correctly in Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 and 3, Google Chrome and Safari in both Mac and PC environments. - Provide a Notes.txt file of any validation issues, errors or items the client should be made aware of (very important - we would like to track changes/updates) Project Goal We will be adding or removing pages to this prototype in future Studio Contests and Bug Races. This working prototype will be viewed as a "live" document to allow Ferguson the ability to see what pages and click paths they need to update, redesign, or simply remove before launching their new website. Specific HTML/CSS Requirements - Your code must render properly in Internet Explorer 6, 7, Firefox 2 and 3, Google Chrome and Safari in both Mac and PC environments. - We will not be validating your code for the Wireframe pages (since they will eventually be replaced) they just need to render properly in the required browsers. Contest Deliverables Please refer to the "Site-Breakdown.pdf" for additional assistance links and page specifics. - All Black boxes are "New" pages - All Green boxes are "Existing" pages Home-page (1).jpg (New Home Page - remove existing home page - create all possible links) Homeowner-Page (1.2).jpg (This page should be HTML wireframe) Professional-Landing-Page (1.2).png (This page should be HTML wireframe - not image mapped) Locations-Results-Page (1.1) (This page should be HTML wireframe - do not use the graphics) Branch-Showroom-Specific (1.1.2).jpg (This page should be HTML wireframe) Driving-Directions (1.1.1) (You will need to layout this page) Vignettes-Page (1.2.1).jpg (This page should be HTML wireframe) National Product Catalog Landing Page (1.3.1) (You will need to layout this page) Search Results Page (1.3.1.1) (This page would look like the center column results of the Professional Landing Page) Product_Detail (1.3.1.1.1).png (This page should be HTML wireframe) Our Vendors (1.8) (You will need to layout this page) Corporate Responsibility (1.9) (You will need to layout this page) All New wireframe pages can be black and white wireframes (refer to past wireframe contests) this will allow the client to see instantly what pages are "New or Planned" and what pages are "Old or Existing" To make this project successful all pages must link! Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following: - How well you integrate the new Wireframe pages - Overall organization of your Site Directory - How well you document your updates/modifcations within your Notes.txt file Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi Submission File All HTML, Javascript, CSS and images that are required to create your prototype and for the client to view your prototype in their web browser.
