Challenge Summary

The Mobile Phones team at Best Buy needs a Mobile Phone Accessory Finder for their customers to use while shopping on BestBuy.com. The Accessory Finder will be used by existing phone owners (to find compatible accessories) and those users shopping for a new phone. Best Buy is looking to the Studio Community to help design the user interface and user workflow for their new Mobile Phone Accessory Finder. The goal of this contest is to produce Storyboards that accurately capture the website requirements and user workflow so Best Buy has a clear understanding of their new application. This contest will be run in the Studio Tournament format. Please read the contest specification and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this contest. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

What we need is an Accessory Finder, what we don't know and need your help with is planning the user workflow, the Accessory Finder functions, and the overall user interface. The Mobile Phones team is looking to use a storyboard design from the Computer Accessories Storyboard Contest to help kickstart this contest and allow everyone more time to figure out the worflow and function details. There are three user entry points considered for this solution 1) BestBuy.com > Mobile Phone Product Detail page >> Option to go to an Accessory Finder 2) BestBuy.com > Customer is searching for accessories for an existing phone >> Use Phone Finder >>> Goes to an Accessory Finder. 3) From a URL directly to the Accessory Finder Requirements - Accessory Finder needs to be easy to use. - Search filter based on specific handsets. - Identify branded vs generic accessories . - Customer needs to be able to identify their phone by a photo and or model number and then find coordinating accessories. - Need to have the old phone accessories available (This information is available in Remix) - Raise awarement that there is a larger assortment online than in the stores. - Design the User Interface (storyboards) of your solution (based on the provided design) - Design all of the UI Requirements for your solution: - Active, Inactive and Hover states - Disabled items - Errors Things you should know - Current BestBuy.com page does not allow for robust finder, only 10 accessories offered at check out - Customers have a hard time finding accessories compatible with their phones. - Current navigation is not effective with customers Design Goals The design is completely open to the designer.
