Challenge Summary

This contest is to design the new "Vendor" and "Corporate Responsibility" pages for Ferguson.com. Ferguson has asked the Studio community to design and build their new website and this contest is an extension of that project and design style. In this contest, you will be designing (2) two web pages (using the provided design) for Ferguson based on the provided direction and any feedback in the forums. This contest will be run in the Studio Tournament format. Please read the contest specification and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this contest. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
Tournament Format This competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $1000. Round 1 At the end of Round One, Ferguson will choose Three (3) review winners; each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in Round One will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $850 in prizes. Round 2 Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Three $50 Round 1 winners and the posting of their design reviews in the contest forum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are now in Round 2 Congratulations Round 1 Winners on your $50 Prizes: 20934 - billow 20924 - iamtong 20916 - abedavera Overall Feedback - Make sure you include navigation in your designs - The slide show will be using slideshowpro - so the UI will be like that except for the color suggestions you make. - Please review all the individual feedback- nice job everyone! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Contest Details Ferguson has been creating a new website. They have some additional pages that still need to be designed - "Vendors" and "Corporate Responsibility". These specific pages are accesible through links off the main Ferguson landing page and through the footer links on all the secondary pages. This contest is not to redesign the Ferguson website but to extend the provided design to the new pages. Vendors Page What Customers would be interested in: - Poduct Catalog Link (see attached catalogicon.psd) - Vendor Links (see current Vendor page content Vendor Page) All of these links need to be in your page design. What Vendors would be interested in: - Content area for 100 word article - Link to Big Hammer Data Collection - Link to Corporate Freight Program - Link to website NIRAC Corporate Responsibility Page - Main area with Flash Slideshow (see Vignettes.psd for size/shape) - Articles (See attached Corporate-Responsibility-Articles.doc) - Captions on the photos Overall Page Requirements: 1) Use the provided header and footer design 2) DO NOT REDESIGN the look and feel - these pages need to be an extension of the provided design. Stock Photography Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Contest Deliverables Round One Vendors.jpg = Your proposed design Corporate-Responsibility.jpg = Your proposed design Notes.txt = Any comments, suggestions or explanations of your design for the client. Round Two Vendors.jpg = Your final and completed Landing Page design Corporate-Responsibility.jpg = Your final and completed Landing Page design Notes.txt = Any comments, suggestions or explanations of your design for the client. Visitors to the side include: - Homeowner/Consumer/Remodeler - Professionals (HVAC, Waterworks, Commercial, Residential, Industry & Specialty) - Vendors - Investor - Career-seeker - Associate - People curious about Ferguson IMPORTANT 1) DO NOT copy anything from the current Ferguson.com site - this is to be a COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN BASED ON THE PROVIDED DESIGN (no images, no logos, ignore the current site) 2) Simple and clean! - use white space and think corporate 3) Check your spelling before submitting Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. IMPORTANT - If you are submitting "small updates or changes" with multiple submissions please include in your notes file what is different or changed - this can be confusing to the client sometimes when they can't tell what is different. Source Files All original source files of the submitted ideas. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify content or overall color/graphics

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
