Challenge Summary
Tournament Format This Studio competition will be run as a two-round tournament with a total prize purse of $1000. Round 1 At the end of Round 1 the client will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $750 in prizes. Round 2 Round 2 will start with the announcement of the five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review.
We are now in Round 2 Congratulations Round 1 Winners on your $50 Prizes: 21998 - donot6 21994 - puchki 21988 - iamtong 22000 - JGeeks 22011 - Dragonair Required Screens for Round 2 We are requiring two version of the home page layout. - One should be "static" layout that the user will have no control over - The other should be one that uses widgets for each of the boxed areas to the user can control and customize their display. The widgets should show the normal controls (resize, move, close). The amount of screens you provide to show this functionality is up to you. At a minimum, the boxes in this version should look like they are widgets and the controls should be clear. Content Addition There should be one more content area on the page for Market Summary data. This should include a graph, some text and other view options. The following two links are examples, and should only be used as such. Your visuals must be customized to your particular look & feel. http://www.google.com/finance (Market Summary section only) http://finance.yahoo.com/ (Market Summary section only) Overall Feedback - Top three page elements are Revenue, Asset Allocation and Financial Advisor Analytics tool. Your designs should reflect this hierarchy. - This page is an internal application for advisors. Visual enhancements should be used to enhance the data and not overdone in banners or large graphic elements that you would see in a customer-facing site. This does not mean the page should be devoid of graphical interest, but used wisely. - Remove the "MSSB Employee Store" from the Client HR links area - There are updated deliverable requirements listed in the Round 2 requirements above - please read these to make sure you have all the requested deliverables. Goals This contest is focused solely on designing a homepage for financial advisors. This contest will set the look and feel for the entire site. We are looking for your suggestions and innovations in your design. The page should easily provide all of the information the advisors need while maintaining high usability, balanced with a slick and highly visual interface. Page Requirements You will be designing the homepage only. The provided wireframe lists all of the content that needs to be included in your design. Overall Requirements - Include all information from the provided wireframe - You are free to rearrange and reorganize this information within your design as you see fit. We are looking for innovative, usable solutions. - Stock art is allowed in this contest (see guidelines below). However, custom artwork is preferred. - Any additional visuals that can be added (graphics to display data, icons, etc) are highly encouraged. - A color palette is provided. Colors may be added as accent colors that compliment the primary colors provided. You may add any other functionality that enhances the user experience as you see fit. Target User Financial Advisors Design Considerations - Showing an intuitive interface that is easy-to-use. - Creating a clean, simple and professional design. - Adding in graphs, icons and other visuals to enhance usability and overall user experience Stock Photography Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork (icons, illustrations, clipart, etc.) is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Contest Submissions Requirements Tournament Round 1 (minimum requirements): Homepage layout Tournament Round 2: Homepage layout as a finished and completed design solution. Source files must be built as layered Photoshop PSD files or layered Illustrator AI files You must submit all requested deliverables to be considered for prizes - you may submit more pages if necessary to show your design. Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.
