Goal Best Buy would like to build a Best Selling Entertainment product widget that features the current best selling products on the Best Buy site. The widget must be configurable for the user to choose different categories to view Best Selling Products on BestBuy.com This intention is that this widget will be shared by users via email, "Copy Me", on their blogs or on other social media outlets. Functionality Selecting a Category - The widget will have nine (9) categories to select from. These are the nine (9) main navigational items on BestBuy.com (TV & Video, Audio, Car & GPS, etc?) plus "All" - The widget will default to "All" but the user must have the ability to set their preferred default category Results - There will also be five (5) products showing. The default 5 will be for whatever category is set. - Results will show an image and the default product data. Locate - There must be a way on the screen to select a product and "Find it Near Me" - allowing the user to enter their zip code. This would take them to Google Map results. Search - There should be a "Search" button that will take the user to BestBuy.com to show them the Best Selling in that category on the site itself. Affiliate Number - The user will also need to have the ability to enter their affiliate number to earn money and track sales. Entering the affiliate number is optional. This would be an input box with a tool tip that will explain what the number is for. Project Considerations You will be designing a yourminis widget, so please be aware of the, structural and technical considerations. More information about yourminis can be found here: http://dev.aol.com/api/yourminis http://www.yourminis.com/ http://www.yourminis.com/developers/docs.aspx http://dev.aol.com/blog/johnfronck/yourminis Target User - Best Buy Customers Wireframe Considerations The most important aspect of this widget is providing a very logical and ordered user experience. The user should not have to think about how to find information. They should be focused on the products displayed and how to easily access the information they need. Wireframe Resources Wireframes on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_site_wireframe Wireframe software option: www.axure.com Example Wireframe: http://www.gdoss.com/web_info/web-site-wireframe.php Wireframe Requirements Wireframes can be built in HTML, Axure (listed above), MS Visio or OmniGraffle. The resulting files are not critical in this contest. The most important point is that all the content is listed and the user flow. Pages must be linked together as a clickable resource. Contest Deliverables Round One First draft all wireframes for client feedback. This first draft must be complete enough for the client to fully evaluate the entire page flow for each section. Incomplete wireframes will not be eligible for any Round One prizes. Round Two Final completed Wireframes The client may add additional requirements based on Round 1 results and decisions made between now and the start of Round 2. You must submit all requested deliverables to be considered for prizes - you may submit more if necessary to explain your solution. Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following criteria: - How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow - How accurately and intuitively the data is represented - How well you implement the required data and any suggestions, interactions and user flow you recommend. - Remember this is a wireframe competition you are graded on your ability to map out the application not your graphic design ability. REMIX Parameters and Constraints - What is Remix http://remix.bestbuy.com - REMIX Challenge Homepage http://www.remixchallenge.com - Remix Forums at TopCoder Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted ideas. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify content or user click paths Additional Information In this competition, Best Buy employees (other than those in the group sponsoring the competition) may participate, however, they may not use any Best Buy resources when participating in the competition, and also may not have any contact with members of the group sponsoring the competition about the competition, other than through TopCoder and the public forums.
