Challenge Summary

The customer has a business need for a demonstration website that can be used for marketing a technology product. This contest will create storyboards (design) for each demo web page and web elements for a set of buttons and icons. The output from this contest will be used as input to a UI Prototype contest to create the the demonstration site.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, the client will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $100 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1500 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $100 Round 1 winners and their design review from the Client.
Contest Details - We need a new website look and feel. - It cannot mimic or look like any other website look and feel that already exists. (NO copying existing sites) - It must feel like a corporate design/look and feel. - Keep the design idea very conservative, formal and business like. The design of the interface must have web elements that most website's have. - We are expecting you to "Greek" the text (like "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet") and can be used on places where necessary like list of products or services, tables with many information, etc. - When applying Headers and Subheader - please use "Header One, Header Two, Sub Header One, Sub Header Two, etc. - Stock Photos can also be used (IMPORTANT: Please see stock photo requirements) See the full contest description and details in the attached PDF Website goals: - Corporate design look and feel. - Conservative, formal and business like. Stock Photography Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs with your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file. 2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed. 3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Contest Deliverables Round One Complete the main landing page, login page, and the fourth sub entry page. The pages should include any icons and buttons that would normally be seen on these pages. You do not need to provide the full set of pages, icons, and buttons that do not fall on those pages. (also any additional screens that will help the client understand your design and user flow) Round Two Update the pages from round 1, add in the remaining pages, and include the remaining icons and elements. Judging Criteria - Cleanliness of your graphics and design - User Experience Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Files should be saved as JPG or PNG files in RGB mode at 72dpi. IMPORTANT - If you are submitting "small updates or changes" with multiple submissions please include in your notes file what is different or changed - this can be confusing to the client sometimes when they can't tell what is different. Source Files All original source files. Original source files should be saved as layered Photoshop PSD files. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
