Challenge Summary

Education CRM is an internal admin tool for business users that manage School data. The school data is used by the client websitedegreeTree.comThe existing admin tool is not very intuitive for a business user and requires assistance from the technolgoy department for the school setup process. We are looking to create a new tool that will allow business users to setup schools.

Round 1

For round one we would like you to concentrate on sections 1, 2, and 3 from the requirements but you are allowed to submit more screens. At the end of Round one, the cilent will choose three (3) round one winners; each will win $100 and a review. These winners, and any member who had a passing submission in Round one, will be eligible to compete in Round two for the additional $1000 in prizes

Round 2

For round two you must submit all the screens to cover the requirements for this contest. Round two will start with the announcement of the three Round 1 winners and the posting of their reviews in the contest forum.
The goal of this contest is to produce Storyboards for the attached wireframes. We are looking for storyboards for the following pages. You should consider the little things when creating your designs such as button styles, tooltip icons, table alignment and centering of tables, sorting icons, paging controls. The purpose of this tool is for users to work efficently. They should be able to enter data and find data quickly. Read the attached background.doc for background information. 1. Manage Schools Page
  • open the index.html and click "Home box" and click Manage Schools across the header
  • Click on a School Name link in the first column,
  • Expand each panel so the arrows on the left are all pointing down.
  • We want to see the design for this page. The current view is showing the a selected School and the Campus and Degree Program Panels are showing information specific to the schoolthat is selected.
2. Associate Degree Programs
  • open the index.html and click "Home box" and click Manage Schools across the header
  • Click on a School Name link in the first column
  • now under the Campus Panel click a Campus Name link and then the Assoicate Degree Programs Button
  • We want to see the design for this popup. You should design it as a modal window to avoid conflicts with popup blockers.
3. Add Degree Program
  • open the index.html and click "Home box" and click Manage Schools across the header
  • Click on a School Name link in the first column.
  • On the Degree Program Panel click the "Edit" link in the first column
  • Click the "Add Lookup Group button and select "upload from file"
  • We want to see the design for this page. Note the to "Next" and "Prev" links in the top right of the panel. These allow the user to scroll to the next Degree Program
4. Add Multiple Campuses
  • open the index.html and click "Home box" and click Manage Schools across the header
  • Click on a School Name link in the first column.
  • On the Campus Panel click the "Add Multiple Campus" button
  • We want to see the design for this popup. You should design it as a modal window to avoid conflicts with popup blockers.
5. Error Page
  • open the index.html and click "Home box" and click Manage Schools across the header
  • Click on a School Name link in the first column.
  • Click the "Edit" Button on the Account Panel.
  • We would like to see a design for how you would show an error message when the user clicks the save button.
Wireframes - The wireframes are best viewed in Internet Explorer. Please ensure you are seeing the wireframes corrrectly. Colors - Use the colors in the attached style guide to come up with your color palette. Feedback will be given after round one (1) Logo - There is currently no logo, you may use a placeholder or fill the logo however you see best. Target Audience - Internal Business users that will be setting up the school data. The design should be professional and clean and pay attention to the little things to help the user. JUDGING CRITERIA - Your color choices and how clean and professional the screens look. - How well all the design and content requirements are met - Designs should clearly display all required elements in a professional manner - Consistency of the design throughout the application Preview Image - Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024px x 1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. - You should avoid any filters or elements that have dramatic effects such as drop shadows or reflections. SUBMISSION ZIP FILE JPG or PNG screens based in RGB color mode at 72dpi. SOURCE ZIP FILE All design source files saved as layered PSD, AI or EPS. FINAL FIXES This contest may have a final fix phase where you may be asked to modify color and other minor design elements. Please let us know in the forums if you have any questions

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
