Challenge Summary

Vesta is looking to build a Portfolio minisite around their eSolutions brand. This minisite will present new technology solutions, proof of concepts and ongoing spec projects. At the end of this contest Vesta is looking to have a clear understanding of how their new Portfolio site will work and highlight their ongoing designs and projects. NOTE: Round 1 is very fast! Please be aware of the Contest timelines

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, the Client will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $100 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1500 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $100 Round 1 winners and their design review from the Client.
Contest Details This new minisite should be eye-catching, sleek and cool. The main purpose of this site is to "Present" work to business partners and stakeholders. For this contest you will be developing storyboards for the eSolutions Portfolio mini-site. The page needs to have the ability to display: - Storyboard designs - Prototype Contests - Widgets - New Technology Concepts eSolutions Home - This page should highlight projects - Sharp thumbnail image/screenshot of the project - Brief description with a link to the Full item page/description - An area for a Contest Link feed - An area for Forum discussions - Suggested links? eSolutions Secondary/Portfolio Page - This page will present a project - Area for images/thumbnails (carousel?) - Description - List of Details/Links We will be providing 3 projects that need to be presented. - iPhone Application - Flash Brochure - eCommerce Storyboards The design needs to allow for additional portfolio items to be added. - All text areas can be greeked/fake information - Please use imagery from the provided projects in your design. Design Concepts It's very important to that this site be engaging, EDGY! exciting and lively. Some concepts to consider when designing: - Speed! - Innovation! - Performance! - Working together Please remember to submit UNIQUE designs - do not simply make minor modifications and resubmit. Target User - Business Partners and Stakeholders Judging Criteria - How well you design the portfolio mini-site - Cleanliness of your graphics and design - User Experience Contest Deliverables Round One eSolutions Home = Your submitted design solution for a review eSolutions Project Page = Your submitted design solution for a review Notes.jpg = A file that explains your design and solution Round Two eSolutions Home = Final Design eSolutions Project Page = Final Design Notes.jpg = A file that explains your design and solution Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. . Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:
