Challenge Summary

This contest continues the Arion wireframes that have launched previously in this space. The goal of this contest is to wireframe the "Operations" related pages for a new web based application. The web application is a resource management system that allows users to create orders for new resources and manage these resources through a scientific study. The use cases for this wireframe relate to the start of the study. NOTE: This contest will be run as a private competition. This means all documentation and forum discussion will be private and only available to members who have completed a CCA specific to this project. The public forum for this contest has more information about the CCA Process and how to get approved to access to the documentation.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1 the client will choose three (3) Round 1 winners, each will win $100 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1,000 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the three (3) $100 Round 1 winners and their wireframe review from the client.
Goal The goal of this contest is to wireframe the Operations flows for a new web based application. Based on the requirements provided in the private forum, you will need to wireframe the required use cases for the application. We are looking for you to meet the stated requirements and create a smart solution with the best overall page/click flow and user experience. A prototype for other, related modules of the application has already been created and will be provided to give you the context of the overall application and navigation. Note: some use case names may be modified in the requirements descriptions below; refer to the forum documents for the specific use case names. Requirements The requirements are available for download after registering and submitting a CCA as described above and in the forums. The following documents are available: Operations - Use Cases & Requirements.rtf:Details the use cases, functional requirements and data elements for the Operations related areas of the application. The following use cases should be included in your wireframe page flows: - View Details - Edit Detailst - Manage To-Do List - Perform Census My Resources.rtf:Details the information that should be displayed for resources. The following use case should be included in your wireframe page flows - View My Resources Contest Deliverables Round One For Round One please complete a first draft of wireframe pages for client feedback. The draft must include how the use cases fit into the general flow of the application and the use cases listed below. This first draft must be complete/coherent enough for the client to fully evaluate the entire grouping module page flow. Incomplete wireframes will not be eligible for any Round One prizes. The following use cases are required (some names are changed): - View Details - Edit Detailst - Manage To-Do List - Perform Census - View My Resources Round Two In Round Two we will need you to take the client feedback and provide final/complete wireframes. The use cases from round 1 should be finalized. Any additional details/screens contained in the provided documents are required in this round. The client may add additional requirements based on Round 1 results and decisions made between now and the start of Round 2. You must submit all requested deliverables to be considered for prizes - you may submit more if necessary to explain your solution. Target Audience The application will be used primarily by research technitions, scientists and users that will support their studies. Their main goal is to easily perform the tasks needed to complete an order form and have it processed. Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following criteria: - How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow - How well you implement the required data and any suggestions, interactions and user flow you recommend (provide any notes or comments for the client) Wireframe Resources - Wireframes on Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_site_wireframe - Wireframe software option:www.axure.com - Example Wireframe: http://www.gdoss.com/web_info/web-site-wireframe.php Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted ideas. If you would like to submit notes please include a notes.txt file. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify content or user click paths.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
