Challenge Summary

Your designs for a new extension of an existing website are needed! There is a new aspect of the JC Whitney (www.JCwhitney.com) website being built. It's a place to store information about vehicles and projects, with community, reviews and forums thrown in, shake it up and you have "My Garage".

Round 1

Create 4 pages based on the attached "Page requirements" document.

Round 2

Provide 4 pages completed in .PSD format. Additional specific instructions will be provided after Round 1.
Primary Goals: Bring the "My Garage" to life. Show how this new idea can look fresh and innovative, while complimenting the existing website. JC Whitney?s "My Garage" concept is a way to connect with customers, understand their needs, offer products to compete vehicle projects, as well as bring fellow car-enthusiasts together. Ultimately, the goal is to sell more products by personalizing the web experience for customers. The point of this contest is to design a graphical treatment for the new, "My Garage" section of the web site. "My Garage" would give customers the ability to list their vehicles, upload pictures of their vehicles, name their vehicles and provide other information about their vehicle. Additionally, "My Garage" would give customers the ability to create projects attached to each of their vehicles, and within each project, list tools and materials that might be needed while executing the project, as well as a project log or other details about the project. The "My Garage" feature is a sub-set of a larger effort around adding account and personalization capabilities around the web site. Target Audience: The target audience is car enthusiasts and JC Whitney customers who work on their cars on a regular basis. Demographically, this group ranges in age from 30-60 of middle to upper class. Mostly men. Branding Guidelines: Use the attached branding guidelines, but design a different perspective to appeal to users. Customers should feel inspired to participate in "My Garage" after being introduced to it. Reference Designs: Current website http://www.jcwhitney.com/ and attached basic wireframe treatments of My Account (which is not yet available on the site).
