Challenge Summary

Alcatel-Lucent is a new TopCoder client that will be running a large number of competitions through the TopCoder platform. For this contest you will be developing Storyboards for the "Alcatel-Lucent" mini-site. This new mini-site will be the main source of infromation for Alcatel-Lucent sponsored contests, past, present and future. It will provide competitors with links to important Alcatel-Lucent resources (from developer.alcatel-lucent.com), the contests themselves and informative stats about past contests, such as total prizes awared to each member, and with news updates. This competition consists of one short round. Please be aware of the contest timeline!
Design Concepts It's very important to that this site be engaging, EDGY! exciting and lively. Some concepts to consider when designing: - Telecommunications - Innovation - Performance - Community Logos - The Alcatel-Lucent logo found at developer.alcatel-lucent.com must be displayed prominently at the top of the mini-site. - The "Powered by TopCoder" logo should be displayed somewhere on the mini-site. Please refer to past TopCoder Challenges (Especially Remix) to see what is required. Reference These links are for reference purposes only. Do not simply re-skin any of these sites. Home Page The following elements present in the Remix site must be present in your design. (three column layout) - logo + Page Title - Nav-bar with Home, Learn More and Forum - Latest News - News from the Alcatel-Lucent Forums - Active Contests - News and Announcements In addition to the elements from the Remix site, the following elements should also be included: - Recent Contests - Leaderboard (a list of the top 10 $$$ earning members from Alcatel-Lucent contests with their prize totals) - Leaderboard (a list of the top 10 DR point earning members from Alcatel-Lucent contests with their DR totals) - Recent Contests - The Home Page should also feature the total amount of prizes given so far and the total amount of prizes currently available. Somethig like "Alcatel-Lucent has awarded $XX,XXX in prizes already and there is currently $X,XXX in prizes up for grabs!" Learn More This page will be the template for the site's secondary pages - logo + Page Title - Link On-State - Two-Column Layout - You can use Greek text - Welcome Message - How to Compete - Right side Active Contests, News Feed, Forum Feed Please remember to submit UNIQUE designs - do not simply make minor modifications and resubmit. Target User As this Challenge will involve the entire Topcoder Community, contestants will visit the site often to check their progress, see the schedule, and see the winners announced for the various competitions. Judging Criteria - Concept/Creativity: Is the design unique and modern. - Execution: The quality of the graphic design and web elements. - User Experience Contest Deliverables ALU-Home.jpg = Your submitted design solution for a review ALU-LearnMore.jpg = Your submitted design solution for a review (also any additional screens that will help the client understand your design and user flow) Notes.jpg = An image file that explains your design and solution You must submit all requested deliverables to be considered for prizes - you may submit more if necessary to explain your design Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screen-shot of your submission within it. You are free to re-size or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Files should be saved as JPG or PNG files in RGB mode at 72dpi. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. . Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
