Challenge Summary

With the new TopCoder Direct being introduced, we are beginning to redesign the pages in our websites - starting with our client pages. These pages need to tell our customers quickly what TopCoder is and how to engage with the process and community. We have a wide range of clients and it's important that each person is able to quickly get to the information they want to see.

Round 1

At the end of Round One, TopCoder will choose three (3) winners; each will win $100 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in Round One will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1250 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the three $100 Round 1 winners and the posting of their design reviews in the contest forum.
Contest Goal The goal of this contest is to take the provided sitemap, review the current client pages, and the new flow for Direct. Using all of these inputs, you must design a user flow that is intuitive, uncluttered, and useful to all levels of clients. Requirements The sitemap provided is the general layout that these pages should follow. Content for these pages should be taken from the current pages, or any page on TopCoder.com. The flow should be analyzed to be sure that all clients would be able to easily access information to help them engage. You should keep these questions in mind: - Will a new user be able to learn what TopCoder is and how it works, simply and easily? - Will any user be able to tell what approach (enterprise, direct, copilot) best suits their needs? The overall layout should follow the layout of the new TopCoder Direct pages. Information should be organized in a similar manner. The current pages are cluttered, too long, have unnecessary graphics and seem overly complex or disjointed. Your task is to simplify and organize. When reviewing the current client pages, keep in mind that content is shown in flash carousels and by clicking on things to expose new content (such as on this page: http://topcoder.com/home/direct/) be sure you evaluate all the content available on these pages. While pages should remain engaging to the user, content should be displayed in an intuitive way. Wireframe Resources - Wireframes on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_site_wireframe - Wireframe software option: www.axure.com - Example Wireframe: http://www.gdoss.com/web_info/web-site-wireframe.php Wireframe Requirements Wireframes should be built in HTML, Axure (listed above), MS Visio or OmniGraffle. The resulting files are not critical in this contest. The most important point is that all the content is listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow. Target Audience The main audience for this section of the website are out clients. This can range from a single person to a very large corporation and everywhere in between. It should be simple and easy to understand for anyone that is looking for information. Judging Criteria Your submission will be judged on the following criteria: - How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow - How well you implement the required data and any suggestions, interactions and user flow you recommend (provide any notes or comments) - How well you organize the existing information in a simple, logical and consistent way

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
