The IBM WW BT/CIO Beta Test Site (BTS) is in need of a new logo that reflects what BTS stands for and that visually supports our vision
Detailed Description Primary Goals: The IBM WW BT/CIO Beta Test Site (BTS) is a central site of IBM, which installs, tests and assesses all new SAP products, releases and tools. The BTS is in need of a new logo that reflects what BTS stands for and that visually supports our vision. Our vision reads as follows:
  • We are IBM's Leading Edge SAP technology services provider
  • Our Beta Test Site is supporting key IBM projects world wide with technical consultancy and integrated solutions expertise
It is important for the BTS to be recognized by our clients as an outstanding team within IBM and the Logo should support that As a result of this competition, 2 logos are expected. A bigger one that fits on cover pages of PowerPoint presentations for example and a smaller logo at the top of each page, e.g. in Word docs. The bigger logo might contain more content, but it must be obvious that the smaller and the larger logo are related to each other. Each logo must contain "BTS". The acronym of the Beta Test Site. Target Audience: CIO Organization within IBM (mid and upper executive management) Branding Guidelines: No specific branding guidelines. It is important though to adhere to legal and IBM requirements which are:
  • the logo must not contain any brand names like IBM, SAP, etc.
  • the logo must not use the IBM 8-bar font
  • Styling: corporate, clean
Reference Designs: BTS IBM Intranet Homepage: See attached. Judging Criteria: Apart from fulfilling the requirements as described in the Branding Guidelines section. The judging methodology will be as follows: - the BTS leaders will vote for their preferred logo. - The top 2 voted logos will proceed to the second round of voting - In the 2nd round, the winning logo must have a minimum of 50% of the votes. BTS leaders may abstain from voting - If none of the logos gets the 50% of the votes, there will be no winner Relevance: Does the logo appeal to the target audience, i.e. looking professional and innovative at the same time? Quality: Does the logo look fresh, professional and clean? Is the composition/layout well done? Concept: Does the logo present a new and interesting concept? Is it simple, yet memorable? Submissions are not to include any photographic imagery. This includes royalty free images or the designer's own photography. Your Submission: Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your logos within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File Your logos (both sizes) placed on both a black and white background in a single JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi. Source Files The original source file must be designed as a VECTOR file and be submitted as a .AI or .EPS file. Fonts Do not include font files in your submission. Instead, you should include a text file in the Submission folder that lists the fonts you used and where they can be downloaded/purchased. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to make one round of color or font modifications.

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
