Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Vesta "Online Credit Application" Storyboard Design contest. The goal of this contest is to create Storyboards that capture the new Online Credit Application functionality. At the end of this contest the Client is looking to have a set of clean, intuitive, and easy-to-use designs that meet the functional requirements.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, the Client will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in Round 1 will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1250 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review from the Client.
Contest Details Vesta is always looking to give their customers a better user experience. In order to ease the process of applying for credit, Vesta would like to create an Online Credit Application. Website users will access this online application from the Professional page. The Online Credit Application should be easy and intuitive for the customer to fill out. The customer should be able to complete the credit application quickly. See the attachment for the current credit application form. Your design must use all the information/fields on this form. You will need to create an easy and intuitive web page that matches the look and feels of the Vesta Professional page. Branding - Branding should be Vesta - View the Professional Page Research Web-based application forms - look for industry best practices Target Audience - Professionals (HVAC, Waterworks, Commercial, Residential, Industry & Specialty) - The design here should complement the main professional page - The design should be very straightforward and professional looking. - Assume Users know how to use the Application but are not necessarily web savvy. Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening: 1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs in your Submission folder/zip file - NOT your Source folder/zip file.
2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed.
3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com. Notes.jpg = A file that explains your design and solution Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered PSD files, AI or EPS files. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify fonts (sizes or colors) or modify overall storyboard colors.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
