Challenge Summary

DoneRight! is getting a new look for their website. We are currently creating wireframes for the reorganization of content and are looking to our rockstar designers to come up with a fresh / updated design concept.

For this phase of the redesign project, you will simply design TWO (2) versions of ONE (1) page of the new site. The client will choose the design they like best and we will move forward from there.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, we will choose four (4) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $1700 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the four (4) Round 1 winners and their design review.

COLOR SCHEME (2 versions)
We have provided a screenshot of the homepage from the new wireframe, along with the logos and a screenshot for color scheme.

- You must include one version of your design using the client's current color scheme (see attached color scheme jpg).

- You must also include a second version of your design, using a color scheme of your choice. Note that the color of the client's LOGO cannot be changed - so your color scheme must work with the logo color.

GENERAL DESIGN (client preferences)

- The client is looking for the overall feel / color of the design to be light and open - so use a white background, soft secondary colors / gradients and give all elements a reasonable amount of padding. Please avoid the "rectangle within rectangle within rectangle" / russian dolls effect of putting border/framing elements on every single element in the design.

- We want the most important elements of each page to "pop" with color. This will help draw the user's attention to them, since the rest of the design will be lighter.

- We're looking for the banner and search module to be the primary elements on this page. You are free to use stock art in the banner and MUST include the words that currently appear there ("Prescreened. Relentlessly Reviewed/ Guaranteed.")

IMAGES & STOCK ART

- BANNER / ARTICLES
You are free to use stockart for both the banner and the article image placeholders. See the stock art requirements, below.

- You are required to use the provided graphics:
--- the DONERIGHT! logo (provided in "logos.zip")
--- the "Guaranteed" graphic (currently in the screenshot)
--- the "BBB" logo (provided in "logos.zip")
--- the TREE logo* (provided in "logos.zip")
* note that the footer logo "a service of TREE.com" is just made up of text with the exception of the word "TREE" - the logo for this word (text logo with leaf graphic) can be taken from the provided LendingTree logo.

- TWITTER / FACEBOOK ICONS
You MUST created the Twitter and Facebook icons from scratch - you may NOT use icons from any other source here. Show creation layers in your source files so we can confirm this was done correctly.

- FACEBOOK "LIKE" GRAPHICS
You may use the "Facebook / Like" graphics from here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like

FONTS
Use standard fonts for all editable text. Do not use any fonts that are heavily stylized (cartoonish / hard to read). The fonts here should be simple and highly legible.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS - please use the forums - we are happy to help :)

Stock Photography
Watermarked comp photography from istockphoto.com is allowed in this contest. You must follow these instructions or your submission will fail screening:

1) You must include a completed Third Party Content worksheet. It belongs with your Submission folder/zip file -- NOT your Source folder/zip file.
2) Only use photos, and only use them from iStockPhoto. Other iStockPhoto artwork is not allowed.
3) Be sure to keep the watermark intact. If the image is cropped in such a way that the watermark is not visible, please be sure to include the entire image in your source files so we can see that it is a comp image from iStockphoto.com.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.
