Challenge Summary

TopCoder is going to start taking some steps to refactor and improve the TopCoder community sites.

The first one we will start with is www.topcoder.com/tc.  The current structure forces the contest types to be split into separate pages (i.e.  there is a separate active/past/stats/etc. page for each contest type. Take development contest type for example, these links are http://www.topcoder.com/tc?module=ViewActiveContests&ph=113 , http://www.topcoder.com/tc?module=CompList&ph=113 , http://www.topcoder.com/tc?module=ContestStatus&pt=2)

We would like to refactor this so that we have flexibility in how they retrieve and display contest data.  Some of the goals include:

  • Consolidating the navigation on /tc
  • Allowing the member to filter contests how they choose instead of having to navigate to many different contest pages.
  • Provide more filtering options to users

We have completed the Wireframe contest. This storyboard contest aims to design an innovative storyboard for /TC Home and Competitions pages based on the attached wireframe, Conceptualization Document and description below.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, TopCoder will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in Round 1 will be eligible to compete in Round 2 for the additional $2500 in prizes.

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review from TopCoder
