Challenge Summary

You control a pirate in this visual, first-person game.  Safely navigate the map, figure out the puzzles, and earn points, achievements and awards.  Avoid snake pits, booby-traps and The Law.  You are given maps that show you exactly how to find the treasure.  Some maps are accompanied by riddles.  The riddles give you all the hints you need to open the treasure chest or to avoid the random and lethal trap!  But there is a catch: your pirate can do anything you tell him or her (good), but can't think for him or herself (bad!).  To navigate your pirate safely to the treasure, interpret the map, and drag commands onto a grid.  To arm your pirate against traps and to open the treasure, drag instructions to interpret the clues into "recipes" your pirate will follow.  When you're ready, hit Go, and off goes your pirate!

This game is part of the CS-STEM initiative. The DARPA CS-STEM project will contain a number of different activities for users to participate in. We have a number of ideas that are going to be implemented, and one is the "Treasure Hunt". This activity is intended for 13-18 year old demographic.
