Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "Hestia User Experience Design Tools Page Storyboard Design" Contest. The goal of this contest is to create the Design Tools pages of the Hestia eSolutions site, the theme/look and feel should compliment the provided storyboards with the items and features outlined below. You will need to follow the provided image wireframe. This is a follow-up contest for the NEW portal site that Hestia will be using to promote their User Experience Design team.

Contest Details Hestia is always looking to give their customers a better user experience by updating and enhancing the user experience (UX) of their existing websites and web applications. The Ferguson UX team would now like to convert their "eSolutions" site into a portal that allows them to communicate/track their projects with the TopCoder community but to also manage and track their projects within their company. This new "Ferguson UX Design" portal will have features for showing New Concepts, Active Projects and password protected features like Project Management tools. For this contest we would like you to design the UX Design Tools pages based on the provided wireframe and existing source design files. You get to this page from the "UX Tools" page. Your storyboard design is what a user will see when they click on one of the UX Tools like "Style Guide" or "Design Pattern Library" etc. FYI: Your storyboard design will be converted to the existing WordPress Theme. Keep this in mind when updating the files/design. Design Details - 2-column content pages, left column for main content, and right column for "other content" (please see attached image wireframe for sample page layout) - The sections may include boxes for related links, lists, a quote, plain text, images, or videos. - The section headers should be specified because this may vary from page to page. - Bring us your creativity when building these sections. - Your design must be simple for the user to understand it but also pop to grab user attention. - We're open to any interactions idea when building the design - we will provide feedback in Round 2 on the direction we prefer. - All of the sections should be designed to be "editable" IMPORTANT - Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together. - All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance. - We want everything consistent with the graphic design of the provided storyboard. Target User - Potential Customer - Current Customer (workers and executives) - UX Team Judging Criteria - User Experience! - How well you create the new "User Experience Design Tools Page" graphics and keep things consistent with the current site design. - Cleanliness of your graphics and design Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
