Contest Details TopCoder has recently introduced the TopCoder Cockpit Application, which allows Customers, as well as Staff, Copilots, etc., to directly engage with the TopCoder processes and Community. TopCoder Cockpit allows users to - Launch and Monitor Contests - View Submissions - Choose Winners for Competitions - Pay for and Download Finished Products and generally manage a project within the TopCoder platform. TopCoder Cockpit is the bridge between the Client and the TopCoder Community that gives a customer the ability to build software and complete design projects of any size or scope through competition. For this contest we need you create new design that will make client can review all submissions more faster, by provide them new way to view all images placed in competitor submissions. Please read more details requirements below. IMPORTANT - Keep simple and clean design! And have great user experience. - Group/package each graphics in its own folder layer with appropriate names/titles. - Keep things consistent. This means all graphics styles should work together. - All of the graphic should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance. - Make sure your design use Windows standard fonts (arial, tahoma, etc) - All text must be editable and non-graphical. - You must provide us how every screens looks in 1024px width and more wider screens. - Before you redesign the PSD, please click around on attached prototype to get more familiar with Cockpit Start a New Project application. DESIGN REQUIREMENT - We need you to redesign the Cockpit Studio Submissions Viewer page (see Studio-1.6-Final-Single-Submission.psd). - Currently the page just showing only one large thumbnail for each submission, we want the page show all thumbnails in a large, spread format that we want implementing into Cockpit Theme. - You can see the sample layout we like to implemented in the reference image provided (reference_image.jpg). - Please show us how the page would look like with 15 thumbnails (200px by 200px for each thumbnail). - You can use a placeholder for each thumbnail. - Please do not use pagination or carousel or other methods in showing the thumbnails. Show all the thumbnails on this page only. - We want the name of each thumbnail appear somehow on the page. (see reference_image.jpg) - Provide us a way to rank and give any feedback for the submission on the page. - If a user click or hover on a thumbnail, we want a large thumbnail appear somehow on the page. You may use a popup window or open the large thumbnail in a new page. - Please feel free to add your idea while designing the Cockpit Studio Submissions Viewer page. - You may explore and add any ideas to make the page user experience. - In the end , your design must have same design feeling like existing Cockpit Theme. RESEARCH - Do some research on how other companies provide browser thumbnails viewer. Tell us what you find. Target Audience - New Customers - Non expert Customers Judging Criteria - How well you create "Studio Submission Viewer" graphics and keep things consistent with the current Cockpit Application. - Cleanliness of your graphics and design - User Experience of "Studio Submission Viewer" Submission & Source Files Preview Image Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. Submission File All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Source Files All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file. Final Fixes As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
