Round 2

- overview display (all functionality)
- timeline navigation tools
- use of drag and drop pane
- mouseover displays in blackspace
- time period (day) scaling and icon clustering
- creative use of space

Primary Goal & Design Considerations
For this contest, your task is to create storyboards for medical history chart that is similar to this site http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/interactive/2011/jun/11/history-modern-music-timeline ( Please DO NOT COPY this and just use this as a guide)

We need a component to be added to a variety of platforms (mobile, desktop).

The chart will display time (on one axis) by 2 types of data:
1) Time Ranges for "encounters / medications"
2) Single Point for lab results, placed orders, etc...

Example of use:
Patient X will sit down with their Doctor and review the history of their disease from diagnosis through treatments to a cure on this interactive chart. They will see time ranges of clinical events (medication regime, inpatient encounter information, therapy history), and be able to hover over single points of medical data to see further details. There will also be functionality that allows users (providers, nurses, billing professionals, cllinical coders etc.) to drag and drop data from any pop up to 'data window' which will act as a scratch pad of information that can be submiitted for fileing after all relevant data has been found and compiled.

Requirements
1) Overview display (all functionality)

2) Timeline navigation tools. How the user navigates back or forward in time.

3) Use of drag and drop pane. We need to see a screen that allows the user to drag data points, or data with start stop dates to a panel and display their description (labs, meds, encouters etc).

4) Mouseover displays in blackspace. To show when hovering over a data point data such as CBC panel (see document) would look displayed outside the main time line window.

5) Time period (day) scaling and icon clustering. To show how data points with the exact same start time and date will look together, with maximum visibility.

6) Creative use of space.

Please see specification document for further information.

Important Notes:
-
No Color Restrictions
- No Font Restrictions
- No Layout restrictions (be as creative as possible)
- We are looking for you (Studio Designers) to help kick-start this project with your creative ideas and design solutions.

Target Audience
- Physicians
- Surgeons

Judging Criteria
- Current state requires multiple tabs to be selected to get a full picture of the patients history. The Guardians time line allows large amounts of data to be corolated on a single screen. The winning design will facilitate viewing time sensative data points, in line with each other, as clearly as possible.

In this competition visualy stunning designs, rather than high contrast designes will be scored higher.

- Cleanliness of your graphics and design

- Help reduce errors of misreading data

- Creative solutions to the issues identified in the spec (attached)
