Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Accenture Project Showcase Idea Generation contest. We need your help to come up with some great design elements that will help us showcases the mobil applications that TopCoder has completed for Accenture and to encourage users to use us to build more mobil applications.

Round 1

Round one will end with your submission of at least TWO (2) of your required three (3) screens. You can choose which screens to submit for this round.

Round 2

Round two will begin with announcement of the milestone winners and their feedback, along with some general feedback for all participants. We will try to have this up withn 24 hours of the end of round one but, if feedback is delayed by more than 4 hours, we will extend the contest deadline.

FULL DESCRIPTION

The basic concept behind the website's function:
A high-level department employee comes to this site to 1) view past applications that we have completed for Accenture departments, 2) to get ideas for mobile applications he/she could have us build for their department and 3) contacts our PM to get started on an application of their own.

The basic concept behind the website's design:
The design should look and feel very open and simple. There will be a lot of colorful images (thumbnails and other screenshots of applications), so we need to keep design color use simple and elements well spaced, in order to not overwhelm the viewer. The site will be built in Wordpress.

This contest is only an idea generation contest, so please show us your best ideas! Once we have selected the various concepts to use, we will run one or more additional contests to clarify the site's actual storyboard screens.

Your task will be to create a minimum of THREE (3) storyboard screens for the showcase website concept. You are free to include additional screens to demonstrate additional ideas / effects / animations, if you like ;) but try to keep like concepts grouped together in one submission. This contest has UNLIMITED SUBMISSIONS - so please keep individual submissions simple / unluttered and use additional submissions to include more ideas (rather than cramming a lot of different concepts into a single submission).

Required Screens:

1) Screen number one should be the index (home) screen. This screen should contain content that sums up what the site is for (see "the basic concept is this" above).

2) Screen number two should be a secondary page - either PROJECTS or BUILD AN APP.

3) Screen number three should be a sub page of the secondary page - PROJECTS > ACME PROJECT - where the user has selected "PROJECTS" and now sees a page that talks about features we have included in this application (ipad app and iphone app) and the project details.

The basic layout of these screens should be:

1) Header Area
REQUIRED CONTENT:
- accenture logo (provided)
- navigation elements, including:
--- HOME (not required on home screen)
--- PROJECTS
--- BUILD AN APP
--- SCHEDULE
--- CONTACT

2) Main Content Area
REQUIRED CONTENT:
- an example of a sidebar is required for at least one of your three screens

OTHER IDEAS FOR CONTENT AREA:
Note that we do not expect you to include ALL of these ideas - pick a few that work well while staying simple / uncluttered.
- page / section titles
- jquery content slider / banner (this could showcase available features and/or past projects)
- thumbnails of available features and/or past projects
- image galleries
- icons / info graphics (how TC projects flow or something related)
- banner boxes (images and/or text)
- data blocks (with project data, such as:project team (titles and names of those involved) or uses (ipad , iphone, etc), project timeline, costs, etc .
- any other idea you may have.

C) Footer
REQUIRED CONTENT:
- text "Powered By TopCoder"
- 4 text links (use "lorem ipsum" for link text)

PLEASE USE STOCK PHOTOS for thumbnails, sliders, etc. It does not really matter what the images are, but we would like to maintain the concept that these will be filled with colorful images. That will help get a feel for the overall design, with content placeholders.

BRANDING

The overall feel of Accenture branding is blocky / simple, with strong colors on light backgrounds. Beyond that, we do NOT want this site to look exactly like any one specific app that we have created for Accenture. If you have worked on other Accenture projects, please keep this in mind!

Note that while the footer contains "Powered By TopCoder" text, the entire design should be designed as an Accenture (internal) site, using Accenture branding.

Below are some specific brand guidelines for this project.

Typography :
The overall feel of the site should be simple and concise, with a good amount of white space.
- Use Arial font only.
- Text should be simple and easy to read  (no small fonts, generous use of line-height / padding / white space).
- Good typography (logical use of font styles / color shades / sizes to help the user understand content hirachy) is desired.

Colors :
Remember that these screens will be showcasing a lot of images (with a wide range of colors), and those images will be the primary thing we want the user to focus on.
- The overall feel of the screens should be light (mostly white background, overall).
- Use colors from the provided color file AND white / shades of grey only.
- Note that, other than gray and white - the bright blue (#00bcee) should be the primary highlight color. You are free to choose a second color from the color file, however, there should not be more than TWO (2) highlight colors used for the design.
- The client prefers a true white (#fff) background overall - especially for blocks of reading text (anything more than three sentences would be considered a block of reading text) and medium to dark grey for reading block fonts (rather than harsh black).

Effects :
Remember that Accenture always prefers simple blocks of colors and design elements. Making very simple elements look well designed is a special designer skill!
- If rounded corners are used, they should be only slightly rounded (2-4px)
- If effects are used, keep gradients / shadows / borders very subtle

TARGET AUDIENCE
High-level business CEOs, CIOs, VPs, etc

REFERENCE DESIGNS
Simple Wordpress Showcase / Gallery themes

JUDGING CRITERIA
- How creative the content elements are
- How well created the elements are
- How easy the design / layout makes it to digest the information
