Challenge Overview
TopCoder has been tasked with creating a sharing application for the Milo client. This is a simple application that will allow mobile users to share content. The final application will support a mixture of user generated and editorial content which will include images, audio and video, as well as copy (text).
To optimise the relevance of content, users will be invited to provide details about their role, company sector and office location when they log-in for the first time. All content uploads will be geo-tagged (iOS and Android apps) wherever possible, where this is not the case, users will be invited to specify a location. Users will also be able to share and 'like' content with colleagues making it possible to give greater visibility to highly rated content.
Quick and easy sharing and notification are at the heart of the project.
For Android, the goals are:
• An editorially controlled home page.
• Rich content pages, including images, video, audio and copy.
• Personalization based on profile information (where available) - sector, role, location (editable
by user).
• Public mini profile showing uploads + views, shares, likes.
• Profile management by the user, fields to include information regarding role, sector, location and
mobile phone + password management.
• Send thank you messages to specific peers within Milo via auto complete search. The
recipients will then be notified quickly via their Android or iOS mobile device or by email (+
notification of further comments to poster).
• Contribute suggestions to a suggestion forum (+ notification).
• Sharing content with specific Accenture colleagues via auto complete search.
• Liking content (after Facebook model) (+ notification).
• Comment functionality + optional notification on all user generated content.
• Media upload capability
• Push notification of shares, responses and 'likes' of content generated by author.
• Geotagging content submitted by mobile device.
This competition will implement a prototype that shares look and feel and overall flow with documentation provided by the client. Note that the files provided are different than normal because they were not generated in a typical Studio storyboard contest, so please look them over carefully. They are also iOS specific, so we are looking for a native Android app that uses the same color scheme, but is a native Android application.
