Challenge Overview
The client of this application processes Small Bodies Node (SBN) data for NASA. SBN data relates to asteroids, comets, and interplanetary dust, so it is just a small part of information in the Planetary Data System (PDS). NASA PDS has a huge archive of collected research data for many missions to planets, comets, asteroids, satellites, etc. in the solar system. That data has been collected for many years of space exploration.
The client needs to convert planetary data from PDS format to the relational database and implement powerful, efficient, fast and user-friendly searching on that data. This project will be part of this process and will provide the data conversion as well as services to query the data in the database.
This contest will implement persistence of imported data to the database
