Challenge Overview

The HTML5 Engine project aims to create a low footprint HTML5 compliant browser with a limited set of features to run on devices.

The current Subset Engine already implements the necessary Javascript functionality to run the Canvas2D and WebGL Hercules Receivers. We recently ran a contest to swap out the drawing code to use Qt. This contest will port the current code to work in Windows, using the V8 Javascript engine and Qt. There will be some additional, minor code changes for swapping out the current audio library from FusionSound to GStreamer.

Competitors will need a Linux environment for running the current code, and Windows to implement the port. They will need C++ and Javascript knowledge to complete this assembly. This is a complicated application, so please take time at the beginning of the competition to ask questions and get your environment set up.
