Challenge Summary

Topcoder is going to start taking some steps to refactor and improve the TopCoder community sites. The first one to start with is www.topcoder.com/tc. In this contest, we'll going to make some changes on the public member profiles page and member achievements page.

Prizes

The top five submissions will be awarded $600, $250, $200, $150, and $100 respectively.

Requirements

We need some ideas on the revamp of member profiles page and member achievements page. Take current member of month for example, member profile page: http://community.topcoder.com/tc?module=MemberProfile&cr=14820574&tab=des , achievements page: http://community.topcoder.com/tc?module=SimpleStats&c=coder_achievements&d1=statistics&d2=coderAchievements&cr=14820574 . For now, we need to revamp these pages to fit for the new look and feel, the prototypes is attached.

In this contest, we need competitors to think about how the current elements on these pages can be better fit for the new look. Submissions should be focused on these two pages (public member profile and achievements page).

For member profile page, we could consider how to display the contests statistics for each track (currently they're in tabs and using Flash).

For achievements page, we can make it more lively by making some new icons for the various achievement types and making the location of them more prominent in a user's profile.

You can see various achievements from other coders: http://community.topcoder.com/tc?module=SimpleStats&c=coder_achievements&d1=statistics&d2=coderAchievements&cr=287614 , http://community.topcoder.com/tc?module=SimpleStats&c=coder_achievements&d1=statistics&d2=coderAchievements&cr=252022 .

Organizing Your Submission

Your submission should be primarily or entirely textual, containing a detailed description of your ideas for the public member profiles view and achievements view. Separate your ideas into two sections, one for each view.

Judging Criteria

We will take into account all of the considerations above to choose the ideas that we are most interested in implementing now and in the future. We are looking for creative and unconventional ideas that we can actually implement. The more detail you provide about how each idea would work, the better.

Submission Files

Write your ideas in whatever widely available file format allows you to express yourself most clearly. Plain text, OpenOffice, Word, PDF, JPEG, PNG, and HTML are all acceptable, as are any other formats we may approve in the contest forum. Video and audio files are not permitted. In general you should pay attention to the forum for any additional clarifications or requirements we may issue, and of course we encourage you to ask for guidance on any questions you may have.

To complete your submission, upload the following materials.

Submission: A zip archive containing the file or files in which you propose your ideas.

Source: The same as your submission, with the addition of source files if applicable.

Preview: A 1024x1024 representative screenshot of your work in JPEG or PNG format.
