Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Praxis - Flight Test iPad App Wireframes” contest. The goal of this contest is to create wireframes that demonstrating scenario for managing squawks/discrepancies/issues found when testing a new airplane prior to its delivery to a customer using iPad. At the end of this contest we are looking to have a clean, intuitive, and easy-to-use set of wireframes that will becomes a great input for user testing.

Primary Goals :

Right now in our clients company, when doing flight test for new airplanes, pilot takes paper based info for a given aircraft. The pilot records any new squawk information and marks any dispositions of existing squawk information. Upon return,  the information is entered into a database via a web based interface and subsequent workflow is performed. The current system (RS) that our client have right now not available for off-line input. Also, the user interface for the input to the current resident system (web based) is not flight compatible (e.g text is too small to read in cockpit).

The main goal of this contest is to creates offline squawk management application in iPad assuming data would be enter offline to iPad and all captured data would be synced to our client resident systems (RS) before and after flight test.

The scenario that requires to complete the primary objectives of this application is descibed below :
1.    Pilot Synchronizing device with Resident Sytem in company network
2.    Upload/Download data from iPad to Resident System
3.    Listing all squawk record  in Resident System for specific  airplane
4.     Pilot can creates new squawk or reopen completed/closed squawk
5.    Pilot can add informations to squawk story and updates all squawk type flags
6.    Pilot can choose to buys off squawk or not (set the squawk is close or still open).

Please remember that all squawk story will be created in offline modes (flight mode) and all captured data will be synchronized to Resident System/DB in our clients company network before and after flight test. We provides you with client documentation that can be found in attachment section, you can found the wireframes ideas from WireframesTC.xls, layout elements from RequirementsDocTC.doc and business requirement from Conceptualization_Document MF.rtf.

Note : Please feel free to use your creativity to creates the workflow scenario for this application but make sure it still follow iPad behaviour and follow clients requirements above. Don’t be hesitate to ask in forums if you have any questions regarding the requirements.

Orientation : Both landscape (horizontal) and portrait (vertical) iPad orientation.

Target Audience
There will be only one user use this application which is the pilot who perform flight test..

Judging Criteria
Your submission  will be judged using following criteria :
1. Completeness and accuracy of the wireframe as defined in the attached requirements.
2. How well your wireframes provides a consistent user flow.
3. How well you implement the required data and any suggestions, interactions and user flow you recommend (provide any notes or comments for the clients).

Wireframes should be built in HTML, Axure (.rp).

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
