Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Accenture Innovation Program V2 iPad Design Contest!  Your task is to design NEW and "innovative" iPad storyboards based on the concepts presented here and in the attached wireframe.

The "Innovation Program" is an iPad application that details information about "Accenture Innovation Centers" for SAP.

Note: We are looking for NEW designs and concepts in this contest. At the end of this contest the client is looking for storyboards that utilizes an "iOS App" look and feel (not web design).

Round 1

We would like to see the following screens for the Milestone Review
01 - Home
03 - The Service
05 - Day in the Life
06 - Bill of Materials
08 - The Technology
09 - Locations

Focus on the home page/icons/slider nav.
Don't be shy with imagery and IMPROVE on what's in there already, we are looking for an innovative look & feel!

Round 2

Submit All screens for Final Review
- include any updates from Round 1 review

Contest Details:
Welcome back to the "Innovation Program"! Some Studio contestants might remember "version 1" of the "Innovation Program" application. This contest is focused on taking the application to the next level of iOS App design and creating an "innovative" look and feel. The first version looked very "web like" - we DO NOT want this. Do not use anything from the "version 1" design!! The goal is to design an "innovative" iPad storyboard based on the fresh new wireframes.

Note: Its very important to learn the Accenture branding guidelines that are attached. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Requirements & Specifications:
Review the provided "V2 Innovation Program" wireframe and design your storyboards base on following requirements.
Please read following requirements carefully and ask in forums if you have questions.

Required screens are listed below. Note what screens we are focued on for the Milestone.

  • 01 Home
    - We would like the left navigation to work/mimic the mobile Facebook app where it slides in/out.(http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8)
    - The left navigation should use icons - please develop some concepts
    - The main content area should contain something innovative and interesting like a globe that animates and shows the different locations? It should convey "global". See a concept here (the flickr feed near the bottom)
  • 02 Overview -> The Charter
  • 03 Overview -> The Service
    - The  Video thumbnail placehold should be 1.78 ratio (width/height)
  • 04 Solutions -> Industry
    - Each industry should have a large graphic icon

  • 05 Solutions -> Industry -> Utilities -> Day in the Life
  • 06 Solutions -> Industry -> Utilities -> Bill of Materials
    - The content should NOT look like excel or grid table (and should not look like what is provided... ALL NEW!)
  • 07 Technology -> Workshops -> Sample Agenda
  • 08 Technology -> The Technology
  • 09 Locations
    - This would be similar globe/animation that is described for the Home - see the notes in the wireframe
  • 10 Locations Detail
    - You can use google maps screenshot, but please keep its Proprietary Rights Notices (such as the text  "Map data@2011 Google -..." at right bottom corner of google maps).
  • 11 Directory
  • 12 Feedback

DPI: 132
      - Size: 1024x748 (landscape) and 768x1004 (portrait) for every screen.
      - Note: This is your design area, it leaves 20px at the top for iPad status bar which you can see in the UIKit.
      - Use the iPad_UIKit, so when the client reviews your screen they get the iPad feeling.

We like dark colors (black is OK but utilize the color palette in Color_Guides_11_11.pdf)
      -
We do NOT like the existing (version 1) storyboard website, slides, excel feeling.

Fonts: Use the Accenture Rotis Fonts - follow the Typography Guidelines.

Stock Art: you're allowed to use stock art (photos). Follow the stock art policy of TopCoder Studio.

Design sharp icons
      - Check icon_sampes.png, It's just the style definition (a simple shape outline with a dark background in a circular button) for DiTL (Day in The Life, you can see it in "Solutions"->"Industry" of wireframe) Solutions.
    We provided the example only for inspiration, you should design your own icons

Flow/navigation animation
    If you have any alternative ideas about the page flow/navigation animation/effect, please provide a NOTES.txt file.

Target Audience:
- High level business associates, CEOs, CIOs, etc

Branding Guidelines:
Check the following Accenture Branding Guidelines (branding.zip):

  • Color_Guides_11_11.pdf

Reference Designs:
We like the the concepts/navigation of Flipboard (http://flipboard.com/), and we've based many of our mobile apps to date off of this "App" style.
If you had joined previous Accenture contests, please do NOT to make this design look like any other Accenture Apps we've done. We want a new look & feel.

App Concepts Recap
- Make sure it seems like an iOS application and not a "web site"
- Note the suggested navigation "design style"
- Use "full screen" page design (to give the App UX feel)
- We like the Flipboard UX experience
- Utilize icons as much as possible to streamline the application

Judging Criteria:
- How well your design follows iOS (and, specifically, iPad) "App" design conventions for placement, sizing of controls, etc.
