Challenge Summary

Welcome to the “HBS Field Program” Landing Page Storyboard contest. Our Client is running a class for MBA students that will require them to conceive and bring a product to market. There will be many teams of students participating (possibly up to 100). TopCoder will be one of the tools that is offered to students if they choose to build a technology related product.

When Students would create a product, they could visit this landing page, and we hope they would use TC as their tool. So this landing page should be attractive.

Round 1

At the end of Round 1, we will choose five (5) Round 1 winners, each will win $50 and a Design Review. These winners and any member who had a passing submission in round one will be eligible to compete in Round 2

Round 2

Round 2 will start with the announcement of the Five (5) $50 Round 1 winners and their design review.


Project Overview

We would like to create a landing page (or maybe a couple pages) that will summarize what they can use TC for and how to engage. We are thinking it would be something similar to http://www.topcoder.com/present

Task

The Goal is to create UI design for 2 pages. They are Landing Page, and Detail page (content will be added later). We want to make it "look" very attractive and appealing to them (landing page), and they can also quickly see the product offerings.

The general theme of the site should be inspired by the phrase "Turn Your Idea into Profit ". This is not the official slogan or anything so dont use it on the site, but rather just for inspiration on the look and feel of what the site should represent.

 On All Pages :

  • The layout width is 960px, but the header and footer is on wide column, it is similar to http://www.topcoder.com/present/

  • Create the Icon for this Event (Class), just a simple icon, see these as reference :

    • Screen Presentation icon on http://www.topcoder.com/present/index.action

    • test tube icon on http://www.topcoder.com/labs/

  • Main Navigation on Header :HBS Home, Our Partner, Blog, FAQ

  • Put Topcoder logo and a placeholder for HBS logo at the bottom (footer)

  • Social share (Facebook,Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+1) buttons, the location is up to you

  • Navigation on Footer : Harvard University, Terms, Contact Us,Privacy and Policy

On Landing Page:

  • “Register Now” Button, may be it would be something similar to “Start A Project Now” on http://www.topcoder.com/present

  • Highlight the steps to get your project/product done with TC. these can be (Concept → Pick a Product → Design → Build)

  • Showcase the TC offerings - what we can get done for you if you use TC i.e. website, e-commerce site, iPhone app, Android app, etc. They are clickable to Detail Page.
    yet to be determined what products , but a product showcase would be cool. Where they can just pick what they want to do and take it from there.

  • “Our Clients” Area, refers to http://www.topcoder.com/who-uses-topcoder/ for list of clients who use TopCoder

  • Blog Feed Area that contain 5 posts

 

On Detail Page:

  • For Now, provide us the “Website” as Selected Product

  • Page Layout is two column (Main Area and Right Column)

  • From here, please provide them/visitors the easy way to see the other products

  • Some FAQ Categories on Sidebar

  • Must contain the following web elements combination, see web element.doc

    • heading text (h2,h3)

    • Bold, Italic, text link

    • image box(frame)

    • table

Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above as PNG/JPG files at 72 dpi.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. (PSD or AI files - documented) 

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
