Challenge Summary

 

Welcome back to the NNS (NoNameSite.com) Avatar Tournament!

The goal of this tournament is to build the coolest avatars that will be used in NoNameSite.com's middle school and high school students members profile.

We want this avatars to scream cool that most popular kids in every school in America wanting to make an avatar!

NNS is a product of DARPA CS-STEM project, an internet platform for helping middle school and high school students (13-18 year old demographic) develop an interest in the S.T.E.M. fields. The platform features contests, activities, prizes and web-based entertainment shows designed to get students engaged.

For this contest, we are looking for the different top shirts or clothing styles for our existing Avatar Designs.

We will be giving T-Shirt as a bonus prize for TC Studio members who submit and passed screening.

THERE WILL BE UNLIMITED NUMBER OF SUBMISSIONS AND WE WILL PURCHASE ALL AVATAR T-SHIRT/CLOTHING STYLE DESIGNS THAT WE LIKE. First place is $400, 2nd place and any other submissions we want will be $100 prize.


Primary Goal & Design Considerations

We already have an initial avatar design, skin tones, and facial expressions, now we want to apply different top shirt or have different clothing styles to our avatars. For this contest, create different top shirt or clothing styles and apply it to the provided avatar designs with the features outlined below.

You can create unlimited design and submit unlimited submissions for this contest and we will purchase all designs that we like.

Requirements

  1. Create a top shirt or clothing style design
    - you can design traditional styles or come up with crazy one
    - your design can be creative and fun as much as you like
    - we are also interested in seeing NEW or out of this world style besides the traditional t-shirt design.
    - your design should NOT include any accessories.

  2. Create 6 different styles
    - choose from the available avatar to design
    - ideally 3 style for boys and 3 for girls

  3. Apply your style design to the provided avatar
    - if your design is for male, you need to apply them to any applicable boy avatars
    - if your design is for female, you need to apply them to any applicable girl avatars

Branding Guidelines
- fit yourself in the shoes of a high school student, then think of the coolest avatar you want to have that screams loud and cool!

Target Audience
- middle school and high school students (13-18 year old demographic)
- there will be two student groups who will actually judge the submissions

Judging Criteria
- Creativity in using traditional or crazy t-shirt or clothing styles
- Graphics Appeals

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (or equivalent) and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
