Challenge Summary

Welcome to “TC – 2012 Budget Presentation” contest.  2011 ended with many events and experiences happening in the Topcoder Community. In the beginning of 2012 year, Topcoder will hold an Executive business meeting to present an executive view of the planned 2012 development budget. The purpose of this contest is to create the slide presentation for that meeting. At the end of this contest, we are expecting attractive, intuitive, clean graphical presentation that is easy to understand by an executive audience that conveys the outlook for the 2012 development budget.

Topcoder will hold an Executive business meeting to present an executive view of the planned 2012 development budget. We already have an excel document that contains content for budget planning, and all the relevant information is on the “2012 Projected –Detail” sheet. We need your brilliant ideas to create slide presentation for that meeting using the documents to present following messages for the audience:

1.    Overview of high level projects, development areas (See “Focus Area” column)
2.    Priority 1 summary with planned spending (See “Priority” column)
3.    Priority 2 summary with planned spending (See “Priority” column)
4.    Targeted feature summaries by quarter (See “Delivery Summary” columns)

Their objective in that meeting is to let their executive person know what Topcoder will be spending on product development in 2012 and what they can expect to get for it each quarter.

Requirements :
Dimension/Size : Power point standard templates size
Font : Open to designer, make sure listed all non windows standard fonts in notes. Preferable windows standard fonts.
Color : Open to designer
Content : Use 2012_Budget_Planning_(randomized).xlsx as the content.
Branding guidelines : No branding guidelines provided

NOTES : You are required to be creative in this contest, We are looking for the best presentation that can be used in that meeting. It means if you have an idea to create some graphical item or design using Photoshop or Illustrator to provides better illustration so viewer/audience will have better understanding about the meeting purpose/objective, then you should create it.

IMPORTANT : Since the data is randomized, any charts and graphs you create will need to be easily updatable to be populated with the actual numbers.

Judging Criteria :
1.    How well you create the perfect atmosphere and design for the proposal.
2.    Creativity and originality of your presentation design.
3.    How well you provide graphical presentation for the concepts instead of just words.
4.    Requirements:  Does your design meet the requirements as stated within the challenge?
5.    Quality:  Does your design look fresh, professional, simple and clean?

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors or Content of your presentation.

How To Submit

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
