Challenge Summary

Welcome to 2012 Topcoder Open Promotional and Generic Banner Design Contest. We are looking for 1(one) banner design to promote the TCO12 Sponsor and 5(five) variations banners that will be used as generic banner for TCO12 event. Banner will be appear at the top of the page of Topcoder Home and Studio Home


Contest Details
The goal of this contest is to design Sponsor and Generic banner for the TCO12 that will be placed in top area of Topcoder Home and Studio Home. More details requirement explains below.

Banner Requirements
The design of these banner must use elements from the winning storyboard contest and the TCO12 logo. It should visually draw attention to itself on the page. You will be designing these variations banner

Sponsor Banner
- Design 1 (one) template banner for 2012 TopCoder Open Sponsors
- You will be designing the banner in three (3) sizes:
- 782px x 175px (http://community.topcoder.com/tc)
- 510px x 114px (http://studio.topcoder.com/)
- 340px x 76px 
- Please make sure the banner says 2012 TopCoder Open (or you can use only the logo for the text) The logos may be sized however you see fit in your designs as long as you maintain the correct aspect ratio. They may not be skewed, altered or have any effects added to them.
- The Sponsor logos should be the most prominent elements in the design. Remember, your banner needs to stand out. If you choose to use white as a background color, please make sure to add a border to your banner.
- Please use placeholder for the logo.
- Please use only the colors from the provided storyboard(TCO12 Storyboard.zip) and TCO12 logo(TCO12 Logo.zip)

Generic TCO12 Banner
Design 5(five) variations of generic banner 2012 TopCoder Open as listed below:
1). Banner TCO12 that only show "2012 TopCoder Open" text and Logo. This banner only explains the event, you might need put date event and place. Do not put any "Register" buttons
2). Banner TCO12 that will says "View TCO12 Photos now!" Or you can suggest us any more exciting text to attract viewer to check TCO12 Photo page.
3). Banner TCO12 that will says "Check out the TCO12 program!" Or you can suggest us any more exciting text to attract viewer to read TCO12 Program.
4). Banner TCO12 that will says "Read the TCO12 Blog!" Or you can suggest us any more exciting text to attract viewer to read TCO12 Program.
5). Banner TCO12 that will says "Blog, Photos, Video, and Program! " Or you can suggest us any more exciting text to attract viewer to see more TCO media.

Generic TCO12 Banner Requirements
- All the generice banner must have same design feeling
- You will be designing all generic banner in these three (3) sizes:
- 782px x 175px (This banner size will placed at Topcoder Home)
- 510px x 114px (This banner size will placed at Studio Home)
- 340px x 76px
- Please make sure the banner says 2012 TopCoder Open (or you can use only the logo for the text) The logos may be sized however you see fit in your designs as long as you maintain the correct aspect ratio. They may not be skewed, altered or have any effects added to them. 
- Do not put sponsor logo in these generic banner.

Preview Image

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it.

Contest Deliverables
Submission File
All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be saved as layered PSD files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify colors or fonts.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
