Welcome to the Training US Veterans for Digital Ops Presentation Contest. The goal of this contest is to design a Powerpoint presentation with clean, modern, professional graphic design. We are providing what we have developed so far for this contest, you can design based on it, we also encourage you to provide more createtive version.

The goal of this presentation is to persuade potential interested parties with the idea that there is an opportunity to leverage the TopCoder community and infrastructure that will create a program to motivate, train and incent US Veterans to learn computer science skills and pursue TopCoder challenges and career opportunities. We would like approximately 5 slides. These slides should tell a story. It should use the current TopCoder Corporate Shell powerpoint, but would like pleasing graphics and visual metrics.

Primary Goals :
The points we want to convey:

1)   The problem:

     a)   US Veteran Unemployment is a serious challenge (please research and site current news articles/stats)

2)   The solution:

     a)   Design the most direct program to put veterans to work in the technology industry immediately

     b)   Leverage a wealth of existing assets along with a vibrant community to train US veterans for technology opportunities

     c)   Leverage the US community college system to proctor and support an online training curriculum

3)   Program Objectives:

     a)   Encourage Vets to participate

     b)   Provide Online Training

     c)   Provide Incentives

     d)   Showcase Accomplishments

4)   Program Elements

     a)   TopCoder infrastructure and capabilities

     b)   Global community for support

     c)   Collaborate with Industry, Academia and Government

     d)   Provide metrics and reporting

5)   Program Vision

     a)   Thriving Veteran member base with measurable and growing participation, prize money and member spend

Note: Please read the above points before creates the PowerPoint to make sure you know the real purpose of this presentation and can creating the perfect design atmosphere for the concept. Feel free to be creative in this contest, a graphical presentation will have more values in this contest.

Dimension/Size : Power point standard templates size
Font : Open to designer, make sure listed all non windows standard fonts in notes. Preferable windows standard fonts.
Color : Open to designer
Content : The current contest in the current PPT is for your reference, feel free to update it.
Branding guidelines : No branding guidelines provided

Judging Criteria
1. How well you create the perfect atmosphere and design for the proposal.
2. Creativity and originality of your presentation design.
3. How well you provide graphical presentation for the concepts instead of just words.
4. Requirements:  Does your design meet the requirements as stated within the challenge?
5. Quality:  Does your design look fresh, professional, simple and clean?

SUBMISSION & SOURCE FILES

PREVIEW IMAGE: Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

SUBMISSION FILES: Your PPT slides as JPG or PNG files. If you have included transitions or other animation effects, you may submit the PPT file, but be sure to embed the fonts and create a PPT file that is compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 97 and above.

SOURCE FILES: All source files of all graphics created in either Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as editable, layered files at 1024X768 resolution. IF you create a PPT file - it should be packaged so that the fonts and graphics are embedded.

FINAL FIXES: As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
