Challenge Summary

Odagan is a website that allows university students to search for and request item to borrow from other friends and students within college community. Each user will provide an inventory of goods such as DVDs, books, tools, household goods, cooking supplies, etc., that he/she would be willing to loan to friends and other students. Users can then view the inventory provided by other students, or search for a particular item and request it from another user.

Contest Goal & Design Consideration

 The goal of this contest is to create a storyboard for the website. Create a convenient interface with a college-centric, quirky and entertaining character. We provide you with a demo, please enable Excel Macros to view and try the demo. Following are how client envisions the website looks and works:

  • Home page that looks like a sketch of a house with various links representing each room.
  • Each link then takes user to a specific room in the house where user can see more items (inventory).
  • The final solution from this project will be website with animation feature.

 Required features and items: 

  • Create a simple and professional logo that contains text "Odagan".
  • Landing page. This page contains function to sign up and login into website.
  • Registration page. Basic registration field must be provided, their could be: user name, real name, email, password, age (birthdate), school, dorm, room number, place (location), nationality, phone number.
  • Create a simple information page that user has been registered successfully.
  • User profile page. Basic user information must be provided. Their could be: name, place, age, phone number, etc.
  • Ability to add new inventory. Basic information about inventory must be provided, they could be: item category, its number, image, etc.
  • List of available inventory of a user. Break it down for few category, they could be: Kitchenware, Books, Small Furniture, Tools, Party Items, Electronics, Jewelry/Clothes, Others (Uncategorized), etc.
  • Inventory details page.
  • Search capability. The result could be a list of items and its owner. When user opens it, user can requests for the item. When user request an item, it will generate a simple message place holder to be send to item's owner.
  • Create a footer. A "Copyright (C) 2012 Odagan.com" will do.

Size: Minimum width 960px. Must support fluid layout in wide browser.

Judging Criteria 

 Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Logo.
  • Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
  • User Experience.

Submission, Source Files & Final Fixes

Preview Image

Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File

Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files

All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and saved as layered format.

Final Fixes

As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

How To Submit

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
