Challenge Overview
ABCD Web Tool is an enterprise application, purposed to provide users with a comprehensive manufacturing delivery status of all of the parts and/or features in an IBM System x product configuration prior to ordering.
The expected benefit of this application is to provide IBM and customers with better information to make decision during configuration regarding selection(s), which may delay delivery of IBM products.
Configuration Management Application (CMA) component is one out of 3 towers of the ABCD Web Tool. Other two are: User Interface (UI) and Data Sourcing (DS).
CMA component will be responsible for processing all business logic of ABCD Web Tool. It interfaces internally with:
- UI (via MQ): to accept user configuration and response back processed data.
- ABCD Database: to query data requested by UI
Since these components will be designed and developed in parallel, the requirement specification needs to be followed as blueprint to ensure they will work per expectation.
