Challenge Overview
This competition is for the design of a “Cost Writer” component. IBM's World Wide Price Release Tool Estimated Cost (WWPRT EC) application gets data as in input that is either at a geography level or a worldwide level that needs to be expanded to the country level. Due to the amount of data this projected in the future and the amount of countries that the data needs to be expanded to, we are undergoing a redesign to be able to handle this volume. This competition is for the “Cost Writer” component that takes processed data at the geography or the worldwide level and the component handles expanding the data to the country level and writing to the database.
The “Cost writer” Task will replace an existing component that is part of a processing flow, embedded into an existing Java Batch Job Infrastructure (JBJI) actually implemented by the Spring Batch API.
The whole processing flow runs only once at a time and the new “Cost writer” is not suppose to have multiple instances running simultaneously.
