Challenge Overview
Styx is a company that is incorporating the Apache Qpid message bus into its product line. The client is looking to provide an application to the technical support team that will allow the inspection and management of qpid. This application will provide the following features:
- Restart the Qpid service in diagnostic mode when starting. Restart the Qpid service without diagnostics before exiting.
- View queues in the system.
- View data about each queue, including: number of connections for each queue, size of each queue, queue throughput, insertion rate, lifetime, if the queue is durable, etc.
- Provide a logfile with all gathered data in a parseable format.
- Aggregate and report this data visually.
The purpose of this copilot opportunity is to create a game plan to implement the project defined above. The copilot’s plan should include the development of the requirements and screens in addition to the application implementation. This copilot opportunity will require both TopCoder Software Contests as well as Studio Contest work.
