Challenge Overview
The Inter-Enterprise Process Director (IEPD) project is part of a service offering that enables IBM hardware products to ‘call home’ when experiencing hardware, microcode, or software problems.
The IEPD system is made up of a number of applications. The main application is IEPD Problem Reporting (IEPD PR) which takes Web Service (SOAP) requests and processes the request. Another application, IEPD Email Broker (IEPD EB) receives emails from the customer and converts to requests to be sent to IEPD PR. It is in this IEPD EB application that this Top Coder design event is focused.
This event is to design a component that will take a MIME message, separate the various parts (header, body, attachments); store these parts in the file system and return an object that indicates information pulled from the message header.
