Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Market Impact Analysis Storyboard” contest. Analyze market and predict it’s impact to business is an essential part of an organization’s business continuance plan. Companies without a way of evaluating market can lose market share or the business edge because of the lack of agility caused by the fact that they are not capable of detecting the changes and of making the necessary updates to counteract them. This project goal is to create system that can evaluate pieces of market information from news around the world and propose actions for the resolution of the detecting problems. In this contest, we’re looking for your help to design look and feel for this application using our  wireframes page and design guidelines as references. The design needs to have the same look and feel of http://www.textron.com to promote uniformity. The goal of the design is to pitch the storyboard to management to continue the project development.

At the end of this contest, we are looking a clean and strong web design for the application that present best user experience.

News has become a very important aspect of the business analysis. A not so favorable review article can take down the shares of a company. At the same time, a technology break-through can affect all the businesses in the competing industry that is assumed to become obsolete even for the companies that initiated the research and development of the breakthrough. Markets are not always logical and intuitive and as a such it is now more important than ever to evaluate the impact of such information and to counteract it by a number of measures decision.  

To predict an accurate decision for their business continuation, our clients need an application that makes their business analysts easier to understand and review impacts of news and changes within their market. In this contest, we need your help to design look and feel for several pages from our wireframes. The pages that needs to be create can be found below :

1. Login Page / Error login page
2. Help Page (Both Categories and Details Page)
3. Impact Analyst - Dashboard  (page after login as impact analyst)
4. Impact Analyst - News Feed Configurations (login as impact analyst -> News Feed Configurations)
5. Impact Analyst - Algorithm Configurations page, create some text editor here. (login as impact analyst -> Algorithm Configuration)
6. Impact Analyst - Analyze page, Create "News Title", "Aggregate", "Action Plan" Tab, and create modal window for "submit for review" (login as impact analyst -> click "analyze" link from dashboard)
7. Impact Reviewer - Review Page, Create only Composite Tab (login as impact reviewer -> click "review" link from dashboard)
8. Impact Reviewer - Report Page (login as impact reviewer -> click "reports" menu)
9. Impact Reviewer - Add New Report Configuration (login as impact reviewer -> click periodic report configuration -> click "add new report" config button to open the page).
10. Any other pages from the wireframes that you think needs to be design (Optional)

Branding Guidelines :
-    Size     : Standard 1024x768 resolution and this will be purely a web application.
-    Font     : Follow font style in textronhome.zip
-    Color    : Follow color choices in textronhome.zip
Important : The style theme and look-n-feel must match Textron.com

Target Audience
There will be 3 internal user that using this application, they are :
1.    Administrator, support and delivery roles.
2.    Impact Analyst, trained specialist on how to use the tool. They will have training on how the entire product works from top to bottom. Their goal is to use the tool as an aid to gather market information and creating algorithms to find patterns in the data.
3.    Impact Reviewer, a generic end user. The reports and ease of use must be intuitive to the viewer.

Judging Criteria
These are the judging criteria for this contest, which are :
1.    Any ideas to present great user experience, Ease of use and quick, intuitive access to functionality and content for users are important for success as measured by user adoption among our customers. Make sure add some notes in your submission folder explaining what kind of idea/design enhancement that you’re offering to our client to increase good user experience.
2.    Design skill, how well you applied your design skill into your submission and showing some professional design result and looks comfortable for human eyes. This judging criteria including the sharp and cleanliness of your submission, your color combination choices, your font size and type choices, and how well your submission can make user comfortable using the application.  
3.    Submission Structure, You must arrange your submission layer in ordered list, we need it to be arranged according their place and their functionality, for example header should be included in header folder, footer, content, sidebar, title, logo, etc. It is required so our user can easily found some elements from your submission and replace it if we have any additional change in the future.
4.    Completeness of the storyboard, you are required to complete the storyboard, it means any information from the wireframes should be included or modified (if you have an idea) to your storyboard. You must send all screen that required as stated in Studio tournament format, if your submission not complete, we will reduce your score.

Submission & Source Files :
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
All Screen Requirements stated above. Files should be saved as JPG/PNG format.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD or AI file.

Final Fix :
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
